The Indiana Pacers (62-36 straight up, 47-50-1 against the spread) are going back to the NBA Finals for the first time in 25 years.

Rick Carlisle’s team surged into a double-digit lead over the Knicks with a 34-23 run in the third quarter and cruised to a 125-108 win as a four-point home favorite in Saturday’s Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals. The 233 combined points soared ‘over’ the 222.5-point total.

The Pacers covered the number as two-point ‘chalk’ for first-half bets when they took a 58-54 lead into halftime. However, the Knicks took the cash as 1.5-point underdogs in the first quarter when they trailed 25-24 at the end of the opening stanza.

Pascal Siakam led the winners with 31 points and was awarded the Larry Bird Trophy for East finals MVP honors. He made 10-of-18 field-goal attempts, 3-of-5 treys and 8-of-11 free throws, in addition to grabbing five rebounds, blocking three shots and dishing out three assists.

Tyrese Haliburton scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, and he had 13 assists, six rebounds, three steals and one block. Obi Toppin finished with 18 points, six boards and three blocks in 25 minutes of run from off the bench.

“Pascal and Tyrese put us on their backs and made sure we would not lose,” Carlisle told the crowd during the postgame party. “But our work has just begun.”

Andrew Nembhard contributed 14 points, six steals, three rebounds and eight assists compared to only one turnover. Thomas Bryant, who hadn’t scored since Game 1 and didn’t play in Games 3 and 4 of the series, buried 3-of-4 attempts from downtown in an 11-point effort.

Indiana drained 17-of-33 launches (52%) from beyond the arc and 16-of-19 free throws (84%).

OG Anunoby had a team-high 24 points for the Knicks in the losing effort. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson had 19 points and seven assists.

Brunson scored at least 31 points in four of the six games in the series, but Nembhard made life difficult for him in the series clincher. Brunson coughed up five turnovers and hit just 8-of-18 FGAs and 2-of-7 launches from long distance.

As of early Sunday afternoon, most books had Oklahoma City installed as a nine-point home favorite vs. Indiana in Thursday’s Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The total was 230.5 points, while the Pacers were +330 on the money line.

Most spots had the Thunder as enormous -650 ‘chalk’ to win the franchise’s first NBA championship, leaving Indiana as a lucrative +500 underdog at the Westgate SuperBook.

OKC won and covered in both regular-season meetings. The Thunder collected a 120-114 win at Indiana as a five-point road favorite on Dec. 26, as the 234 combined points went ‘over’ the 227.5-point total.

The Pacers led by 10 points at the end of the first quarter, by eight at halftime and by one going into the final stanza. But the Thunder outscored them 37-30 in the fourth, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 45 points, seven rebounds, two blocks, one steal and eight assists compared to only one turnover.

SGA knocked down 15-of-22 FGAs, 4-of-5 treys and all 11 free-throw attempts. Jalen Williams added 20 points, five assists and four rebounds. Chet Holmgren didn’t play.

Nembhard had a team-best 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in defeat. Siakam had a double-double with 22 points and 10 boards, hitting 5-of-7 shots from 3-point range. Haliburton had eight assists compared to just one turnover, but he was limited to four points on 2-of-6 shooting from the field.

The rematch took place in OKC on March 29, with the Thunder winning a 132-111 decision as an eight-point home favorite. The 243 combined points went ‘over’ the 234-point tally.

Holmgren didn’t play again, but SGA led six double-figure scorers with a game-high 33 points, seven rebounds and eight assists without a turnover. Lu Dort buried 8-of-11 FGAs and finished with 22 points and five boards, while Isaiah Joe had 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from downtown.

Haliburton had a team-high 18 points in the losing effort. Nembhard finished with 16 points and seven assists.

FanDuel has Gilgeous-Alexander listed as the -550 favorite to win NBA Finals MVP honors. Haliburton has the next-shortest odds at +700, followed by Siakam (+1900 or 19/1), Williams (33/1), Holmgren (75/1) and Turner (360/1).

For the series spread, FanDuel has OKC -1.5 games at a -250 price, -2.5 games (-114) and -3.5 games (+330). On the flip side, gamblers can take Indiana at -1.5 games for a +820 payout, -2.5 games (25/1) and -3.5 games (40/1). The Pacers are +1.5 (+198), +2.5 (-106) and +3.5 (-450).

The ‘over/under’ for total games played in the series is 5.5 (‘under’ -128, ‘over’ +104).

Thursday’s series opener will tip at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on ABC.

PREDICTION: I’m on the Pacers +9.5 (Caesars) for one unit in Game 1. They own a 6-2 record both SU and ATS in eight postseason road assignments.
