According to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania, Minnesota Timberwolves star guard Anthony Edwards will be sidelined for the next two weeks due to a right hamstring strain.

Edwards sustained the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s 114-110 win over Indiana in Minnesota’s home opener. The Timberwolves improved to 2-1 straight up but fell to 0-3 against the spread, failing to cover as 12-point ‘chalk.’

Edwards scored 41 points and grabbed seven rebounds in Minnesota’s 118-114 season-opening win at Portland as a 4.5-point road favorite. He had 31 points, five assists and four rebounds in a 128-110 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers this past Friday.

Before leaving yesterday’s win over the Pacers, Edwards had scored five points and snagged one rebound in the first three minutes. He’s averaging 25.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

Edwards has hit 27-of-52 field-goal attempts (51.9%) and buried 9-of-19 launches from 3-point range (47.4%).

Minnesota is back in action tonight hosting Denver. As of this afternoon, most spots had the Nuggets as 6.5-point road favorites with a total of 229.5. The T-wolves were +200 or +205 on the money at most shops.
