The Houston Texans (6-2 straight up, 3-4-1 against the spread) will be without their prized offseason acquisition for the rest of the season, as veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs has a torn ACL.
Diggs sustained the non-contact injury in this past Sunday’s 23-20 home win over Indianapolis.
“Hurts our team to hear that news. He’s been such an important part to our team and everything that he brought, not only on the field, but off the field. The energy, the leader, the way he worked every single day,” Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “Have to pick up the slack. A lot of guys have to step up and pick up the slack. Definitely praying for him.”
In eight games this year, Diggs had 47 catches on 64 targets for 496 yards and three touchdowns. He had eight rushing yards and one TD on three attempts. The two-time All-Pro was ranked seventh in the NFL in receptions.
The Buffalo Bills sent Diggs to Houston for a 2025 second-round draft pick during the offseason. The Texans’ second-year QB C.J. Stroud had a passer rating of 104 and connected on 73% of his throws to Diggs.
Houston is already without WR Nico Collins, who was leading the NFL in receiving yards (567) through the first six weeks of the season. After suffering the Week 5 injury, Collins was placed on IR and will miss at least one more game.
That contest will be at the New York Jets on Thursday night. As of early Wednesday afternoon, most books had the Jets listed as two-point home favorites with a total of 42. The Texans were +110 on the money line.

Diggs will be a free agent after this season.
