The NFL announced Tuesday that it has suspended Minnesota wide receiver Jordan Addison for the first three games of the 2025 regular season for a violation of the league’s Substances of Abuse Policy.
Addison will miss the Vikings’ season opener at Chicago and home games vs. Atlanta and Cincinnati. He’ll be eligible to return for the club’s Week 4 matchup vs. Pittsburgh in Dublin, Ireland.
Addison can still play in preseason games and participate in all team activities at training camp. He pleaded no contest last month to a charge of wet reckless driving on a highway, a lesser charge compared to his 2024 arrest for DUI.
Minnesota selected Addison out of USC – where he spent his last season in college after transferring from Pitt, where he won the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2021 when he had 100 catches for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns – with the #23 overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
As a rookie, Addison played in all 17 regular-season games and hauled in 70 receptions on 108 targets for 911 receiving yards and 10 TDs. He played in 15 regular-season contests last year, making 63 catches on 99 targets for 875 yards and nine TDs.
In the Vikings’ blowout loss to the Rams in the NFC Wild Card Round, Addison was limited to three receptions on eight targets for 29 yards.
Addison was found asleep at the wheel by a West Los Angeles police officer last summer with his white Rolls-Royce blocking a lane of traffic on I-105 near the airport. He’s agreed to pay a $390 fine and will be on probation for 12 months.
