Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart sustained a knee injury earlier this week that’s expected to keep him out indefinitely and is potentially season-ending.
Stewart was a five-star prospect in the 2022 class out of Liberty High School in Frisco, TX., when he signed with Texas A&M. According to the 247Sports Composite, he was the nation’s #11 overall player and #2 WR.
As a true freshman for the Aggies, Stewart played in 10 games and had 53 receptions for 649 yards and two touchdowns.
In eight games as a sophomore in 2023, Stewart hauled in 38 catches for 514 yards and four TDs.
After Jimbo Fisher was fired, Stewart entered the transfer portal. The 247Sports Composite had him as a five-star transfer ranked the #2 WR and #5 overall player in the portal when he signed with Dan Lanning’s program.
In 13 games for the Ducks last year, Stewart had 48 receptions for 613 yards and five TDs. However, a lower-back injury kept Stewart out of Oregon’s 41-21 loss vs. Ohio St. at the Rose Bowl in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.
In Oregon’s 37-34 home win over Boise St. in Week 2, Stewart caught five balls for 112 receiving yards and one TD. He had seven catches for 149 yards and one TD in a 32-31 home win over Ohio St.
According to Athlon’s 2025 college football preview magazine’s National Unit Rankings, Oregon’s WRs are ranked seventh in the country. Lanning’s prize recruit in the Ducks’ 2025 recruiting class is incoming freshman Dakorien Moore, a five-star WR who is ranked as the nation’s #1 WR and #9 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
Moore and four-star WR Cooper Perry were two of Oregon’s incoming freshmen who were early enrollees that participated in spring practice. Lanning also signed former FSU WR Malik Benson from out of the portal.
Benson played in 14 games for Alabama during the 2023 campaign. He had 13 receptions for 162 yards and one TD. In 12 games for the Seminoles last year, Benson had 25 catches for 311 yards and one TD.
FanDuel has Oregon with +850 odds to win the CFP and +290 odds to win the Big Ten Championship Game. The Ducks have a season win total of 10.5 (‘under’ -120, ‘over’ -102).
