FanDuel has released its numbers for the sides and totals for three different matchups in next week’s SEC Championship Game in Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
There are four teams – Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss – that remain alive to make the championship game. FanDuel has the Aggies as +175 ‘chalk’ to win the SEC Championship Game.
The next-shortest odds belong to UGA (+185), ‘Bama (+195) and Ole Miss (+1700 or 17/1). Mike Elko’s team will make the SECCG for the first time in program history with a win Friday night at Texas.
As of Wednesday morning, most books had Texas A&M installed as a 2.5-point road favorite vs. the Longhorns, who have +110 money-line odds. The total was 51.5 points.
Texas A&M (11-0 straight up, 5-6 against the spread) is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS in four road assignments this season, while Texas (8-3 SU, 3-7-1 ATS) is unbeaten in five home games with a 2-2-1 spread record.
The Aggies will be looking to avenge a 17-7 home loss to Texas last year in the first meeting between these bitter rivals since 2011. They haven’t tasted victory over the Longhorns since a 24-17 win in Austin back in 2010.
Like Texas A&M, Alabama merely needs to win the Iron Bowl at Auburn on Saturday to secure a spot in the SECCG. As of Wednesday morning, the Crimson Tide were -6 against the Tigers, who were in the +180 to +195 range on the money line.
Georgia (10-1 SU, 5-5-1 ATS) needs Auburn or Texas to pull upsets to make the SECCG. The Bulldogs close their regular season in Atlanta vs. Ga. Tech on Friday afternoon.
UGA was favored by 13.5 or 14 points early Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets are 17-6 ATS with 13 outright wins in 23 games as underdogs during Brent Key’s tenure.
Ole Miss (10-1 SU, 6-4-1 ATS) is also looking for its first SECCG appearance in program history. As of Wednesday morning, the Rebels were seven-point road favorites for Friday’s Egg Bowl in Starkville.
Lane Kiffin’s team (for now, that is, as he’s “expected” to announce his future plans on Saturday with his options being to stay at Ole Miss or leave for Florida or LSU) needs to win the Egg Bowl and hope for Auburn to upset Alabama and Texas to beat Texas A&M.
FanDuel has the Aggies as 1.5-point favorites (at a -106 price) vs. UGA with a total of 55.5. Texas A&M is -114 on the money line, while UGA is -105.
The Aggies are also 1.5-point ‘chalk’ vs. Alabama with a total of 51.5. They’re -118 on the money line compared to -102 for the Tide.
FanDuel has UGA -1.5 (-106) vs. Alabama with a total of 50.5. The Bulldogs have -113 money-line odds compared to -106 for Kalen DeBoer’s squad.
Texas A&M hasn’t faced UGA or Alabama this season. The Tide has won 10 of the last 11 head-to-head meetings against UGA, including a 24-21 win in Athens as a 2.5-point road underdog back in Week 5 on Sept. 27.
