According to multiple reports, Arkansas (20-13 straight up, 13-17-1 against the spread) freshman guard Boggie Fland has been cleared to return to basketball activities and will practice with the Razorbacks today. Barring a setback, he’s expected to play in the NCAA Tournament.
Fland went down in January with what at the time was believed to be a season-ending hand injury. He has missed 15 games in a row since then.
In 18 games this year, Fland was averaging 14.9 points, 5.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. He was playing an average of 34.0 minutes per game.
Fland had a 103/28 assists-to-turnovers ratio. He was making 36.5 percent of his 3-pointers and 83.9 percent of his free throws.
In the most recent mock posted at nbadraft.net on March 11, Fland was listed as the #6 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.
Without Fland, Arkansas compiled a 9-6 SU record and a 10-4-1 ATS mark.
Fland’s return is spectacular news for John Calipari’s squad that’s been down to a seven-man rotation since Adou Thiero sustained a hyperextended knee in a 92-85 win over Missouri on Feb. 22.
Thiero, who averages 15.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game, has missed six consecutive games.
Thiero is listed as ‘doubtful’ for the Hogs in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Most bracketology gurus have Arkansas pegged to be a #10 seed that’s among the ‘Last Four Byes’ who don’t have to play at the First Four in Dayton. FanDuel has the Razorbacks with 250/1 odds to win the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
