Charlotte second-year guard Brandon Miller will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right shooting wrist.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft tore the scapholunate ligament in his wrist during a 117-112 win over Utah on Jan. 15.

According to the Hornets, Dr. Michelle Carlson performed the surgery in New York City at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

In 27 regular-season games this year, the 22-year-old Miller was averaging 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He had made 40.3 percent of his field-goal attempts, 35.5 percent of his 3-pointers and 86.1 percent of his free throws.

As a rookie last season, Miller started 68 of 74 games for Charlotte. He averaged 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.9 SPG.

Miller buried 44.0 percent of his FGAs, 37.3 percent of his treys and 82.7 percent of his free throws.

Charlotte (11-29 straight up, 21-18-1 against the spread) saw its three-game winning streak snapped in last night’s 132-120 loss at Memphis as an 11.5-point road underdog. The Hornets will host Portland on Friday night.

As of Thursday night, most books had Charlotte installed as a 4.5-point home favorite with a total of 222. The Trail Blazers will be in a back-to-back situation after playing at Orlando tonight.
