According to a report from Stadium’s Shams Charania, Phoenix point guard Chris Paul will miss at least the next three games with a groin injury sustained in Monday’s Game 2 loss at Denver.

Denver takes a 2-0 series lead into Friday’s Game 3 at Phoenix. Paul was injured in the third quarter of the Suns’ 97-87 loss two nights ago.

The 17-year veteran out of Wake Forest averaged 13.9 points, 8.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in 59 regular-season contests. In seven postseason games, Paul has averaged 12.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 SPG.

As of Wednesday morning, most books had Phoenix (49-40 straight up, 45-43-1 against the spread) installed as a 3.5-point home ‘chalk’ for Friday’s Game 3 vs. the Nuggets. The total was 224 points and Denver was +145 on the money line.

FanDuel has the Nuggets as -490 favorites in its updated series price. The Suns are +380 underdogs.

Going into Wednesday’s action, Boston is the +190 ‘chalk’ to win the NBA championship. The next-shortest odds belong to Denver (+400), Philadelphia (+500), Los Angeles (+600), Golden St. (+650) and Phoenix (+1300 or 13/1).
