San Antonio (74-27 straight up, 57-42-2 against the spread) won a 111-103 decision at Oklahoma City as a 3.5-point underdog in Saturday’s Game 7 of the Western Conference finals to advance to the NBA Finals. The Spurs won outright as +130 money-line underdogs.
Victor Wembanyama led seven double-figure scorers with 22 points and seven rebounds, including 3-of-5 marksmanship from downtown. Julian Champagnie added 20 points and six boards, draining 6-of-10 launches from 3-point range.
Stephon Castle produced 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and one steal, while De’Aaron Fox added 15 points, five assists and three steals. Dylan Harper finished with 12 points, seven boards and three assists, while Keldon Johnson and Devin Vassell had 11 points apiece.
Bettors on the ‘over’ need to buy Vassell dinner. With San Antonio leading 109-103, Champagnie pulled down a rebound off an OKC miss with 10 seconds remaining. He passed ahead to Fox, who could’ve just dribbled the clock out.
Instead, Fox threw ahead to Vassell, who also could’ve opted to dribble out the clock. But Vassell went in for a running dunk with 4.1 ticks left to get the bucket needed for gamblers on ‘over’ 212.5 points.
NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 35 points for OKC in the losing effort. He added nine assists, four rebounds and three steals, hitting 12-of-21 field-goal attempts and 9-of-11 free throws.
Cason Wallace finished with 17 points, seven boards, four assists and a pair of steals. Alex Caruso went ‘over’ his player prop for points (9.5) with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists, but he was an abysmal 3-of-14 on FGAs and hit only 1-of-6 treys.
The Spurs had 66/1 odds to win the 2026 NBA Finals back in the preseason. Those odds match the longest along with last year’s Indiana Pacers for a team to make the NBA Finals since 1985. They’ll try to become the first team in league history with odds longer than 30/1 to win the NBA Finals.
San Antonio cashed 33/1 tickets from the preseason to win the West. The Spurs will now face the Knicks in a rematch of the 1999 NBA Finals when they won the series in five games.
As of early Sunday afternoon, most books had San Antonio installed as a five-point home favorite for Wednesday’s Game 1. The total was 218.5 points, and the Knicks were in the +170 to +180 range on the money line.
FanDuel has the Spurs as -200 ‘chalk’ to win the series, with the Knicks listed as +168 underdogs. Wembanyama is the -185 favorite to win NBA Finals MVP honors.
The next-shortest odds belong to Jalen Brunson (+220), Karl-Anthony Towns (+2200 or 22/1), OG Anunoby (70/1), Castle (80/1) and Fox (100/1).
