Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid will miss Wednesday’s Game 2 at the New York Knicks due to multiple injuries.

The seven-time NBA All-Star selection won’t dress out because of a sprained right ankle and soreness in his right hip. Embiid had initially been listed as ‘probable’ on the injury report.

The 32-year-old Embiid was limited to 14 points and four rebounds on 3-of-11 field-goal attempts in 25 minutes of playing time during Monday’s 137-98 loss to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

In 38 regular-season games this year, Embiid averaged 26.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.2 blocked shots per game. He made 48.9 percent of his FGAs, 33.3 percent of his 3-pointers and 85.4 percent of his free throws.

Embiid had played in five games in a row, but his streak of not playing in six straight games since 2023 will continue. In Philadelphia’s 109-100 win at Boston in this past Saturday’s Game 7, he had 34 points, 12 boards, six assists compared to only one turnover and one blocked shot.

In four games during the series against the Celtics, Embiid averaged 28.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.0 APG.

Before the Embiid news broke early Wednesday afternoon, most books had the Knicks as 7.5-point home favorites with a total of 216.5. Since then, the number has moved to -10.5 at most spots with the total settling at 213.5 points.

The 76ers, who won Game 2 at Boston outright without Embiid, are in the +350 to +375 range on the money line.
