One of the NFL’s most anticipated Week 1 matchups is currently off the board at several major sportsbooks.

The apparent explanation has to do with the status of new Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles. Foles missed voluntary OTAs this week due to what Jags coach Doug Marrone defined as a “personal situation.”
“Nick’s been communicating; it’s a personal situation,” Marrone told Jaguars.com. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Nick and his family. He knows, like anything else, that we’re here for him.”
While the uncertainty around Foles’ status is not officially the reason for this game going off board, there is further evidence that oddsmakers aren’t comfortable with the Jags right now.
BetOnline currently has lines available for several other Kansas City Chiefs games — as well as numerous other teams — but all Jacksonville games are off the board.
If Foles does miss time or is less than 100 percent, it would be detrimental to the Jags’ chances in 2019. Their quarterback depth after him consists of 2018 sixth-round pick Tanner Lee and 2019 sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew.
Jacksonville inked Foles to a four-year, $88 million contract this offseason after releasing Blake Bortles. He’s also set to receive more than $50 million in guaranteed money.
