Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis is going to have another weapon to work with in 2023. The Seminoles landed a commitment yesterday from former Michigan St. wide receiver Keon Coleman.
Coleman was a four-star prospect in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports. He was rated as the No. 13 player in Louisiana and the No. 90 overall prospect nationally coming out of Opelousas Catholic School in Opelousas, LA.
As a true freshman for the Spartans in 2021, Coleman played in only four games. He had seven catches for 50 yards and one touchdown.
Coleman enjoyed a breakout campaign as a redshirt freshman last season, though. He hauled in 58 receptions for 798 yards and seven TDs.
As you can see in that clip above, the 6-foot-4 wideout can go up in traffic and make plays. Travis now has three targets who are 6-foot-4 or taller. The veteran signal caller currently has +1200 (or 12/1) odds to win the Heisman Trophy at FanDuel.
Travis shares the second-shortest Heisman odds with Washington QB Michael Penix and Oregon QB Bo Nix. USC QB Caleb Williams is the +500 ‘chalk’ to become only the second player in college football history to win two Heisman Trophies.
FanDuel has FSU’s season win total at 9.5 (‘over’ -142, ‘under’ +116), while DraftKings has the Seminoles’ tally at 10 (‘under’ -115, ‘over’ -105).
