North Carolina State added another veteran player to its 2025-26 roster with a commitment from Ven-Allen Lubin this past weekend.
Lubin, a 6-foot-8, 230-pound power forward, will play for his fourth school in four seasons after spending last year at North Carolina playing for Hubert Davis.
Lubin started 20 of 37 games for the Tar Heels, logging an average of 19.6 minutes per game. He averaged 8.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 0.9 blocked shots per contest.
Lubin was a four-star recruit in the 2022 class and signed with Mike Brey at Notre Dame. As a true freshman, he started seven of 28 games, playing an average of 17.4 MPG. He averaged 6.2 points and 4.4 rebounds for the Fighting Irish.
When Brey resigned, Lubin transferred to Vanderbilt. He started all 26 games he played, averaging 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.0 BPG for the Commodores.
Lubin played extremely well down the stretch in his lone season at Vandy. In a 74-73 home win over Texas A&M, he had 25 points and five rebounds on 9-of-13 shooting from the field.
Lubin had 19 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots in an 85-82 win at Arkansas. Then on Senior Night at home, he produced 25 points, 11 boards and two steals in a 79-78 win over Florida.
In a 90-85 overtime loss vs. Arkansas at the SEC Tournament, Lubin had 21 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Lubin came on strong for UNC late in the season, too. He scored in double figures in each of the Tar Heels’ last 11 games.
Lubin produced double-doubles in all three of UNC’s ACC Tournament games, going for 17 and 10 in a win over Notre Dame. He had 10 and 13 along with three blocks in a 68-59 win over Wake Forest.
In UNC’s 74-71 loss to Duke in the ACC Tournament finals, Lubin finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds. In a 95-68 win over San Diego St. at the First Four in Dayton, he contributed 12 points and four boards in 21 minutes of playing time.
The Tar Heels saw their season end in a 71-64 loss to Ole Miss in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Lubin had 14 points, two rebounds and one block against the Rebels, hitting 6-of-7 field-goal attempts.
However, he was limited to only 16 minutes of action before fouling out.

Lubin is the eighth player the Wolfpack have acquired out of the transfer portal. He is their sixth four-star transfer.
