Gonzaga (25-2 straight up, 15-12 against the spread) junior forward Braden Huff is going to miss at least another month and won’t be back in uniform until the 2026 NCAA Tournament, head coach Mark Few announced on his weekly television show Sunday in Spokane.
“We said four to eight weeks, it’ll be at least eight,” Few told KHQ host Greg Heister. “He’s still on crutches, we’ll get him off crutches here in a little while. As that progresses, we’ll see how it’s going. He’s a long ways away from getting back, but hopefully. Who knows?”
The first-round games in the NCAA Tournament will take place on March 19 and 20.
Huff sustained a knee injury at practice before the Bulldogs’ Jan. 15 game at Washington St. He spent several weeks back home in Chicago recovering, according to The Spokesman-Review, before returning to Spokane last week.
Huff was seen on crutches after making the trip to Santa Clara for Gonzaga’s 94-86 win Saturday as a 5.5-point road favorite.
In 18 games this season, the 6-foot-10 Huff has averaged 17.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He’s made 66.2 percent of his field-goal attempts and 57.5 percent of his free throws.
Huff has scored at least 20 points eight times this year, including a career-high 37-point effort in a 98-70 win over Campbell. He made 16-of-18 FGAs against the Fighting Camels and also pulled down eight rebounds.
As a sophomore during the 2024-25 campaign, Huff helped the Bulldogs beat Georgia 89-68 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by contributing 18 points, eight rebounds, two blocked shots, one steal and three assists without a turnover. Huff finished with 11 points, four boards and three assists in an 81-76 loss to Houston in the Round of 32.
Gonzaga has posted an 8-1 SU record and a 5-4 ATS mark since Huff’s injury, but Few’s team is currently on a 3-0 ATS run.
