Utah Jazz forward Bojan Bogdanovic will have season-ending wrist surgery on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Bogdanovic averaged 20.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 63 games for the Jazz. The 31-year-old veteran was making 41.4 percent of his attempts from 3-point land and 90.3 percent of his free-throw attempts.
Utah is currently the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference, trailing Denver by 1.5 games. The Jazz are one game in front of both Oklahoma City and Houston for the fourth slot.
Bogdanovic’s 20.2 PPG average was a career best. He’s expected to be fully recovered for the start of the 2020-21 campaign.
Bogdanovic left the Indiana Pacers to sign a four-year, $73 million deal with the Jazz last summer. Joe Ingles will likely step into Bogdanovic’s starting role when the NBA returns.
