Marshall: Week 10 NFL Trends

CHICAGO at CAROLINA (Thursday, November 9)… Bears showing a bit of life, covers in 3 of last 5 after long slump (only one cover in preceding eleven), “over” 6-3 this season (though “under” 3-1 last four).  Panthers even worse, just 1-6-1 vs. line this season, “under” all four in Charlotte.  Tech edge-slight to Bears and “under,” based on recent and “totals” trends.
INDIANAPOLIS vs NEW ENGLAND (at Frankfurt, Germany)… Colts 3-1 vs. line away from Lucas Oil this season, also 11-4 “over” since late 2022.  Patriots have only won and covered one of last six this season, also “under” 6-2 last eight this season.  Tech edge-slight to Colts, based on recent trends.
CLEVELAND at BALTIMORE… Browns covered both meetings last season, and “unders” 5-2 last seven clashes.  Cleveland yet to cover back-to-back games this season and 0-3 vs. line away (also “over” in those three away games).  Ravens now 3-1 vs. line at home this season, and on 16-7 “under” run in reg season since early 2022.  Tech edge- Ravens and “under,” based on recent and “totals” trends.
HOUSTON at CINCINNATI… Texans have dropped last two vs. spread, also “over” that pair after “under” the preceding four games.  Bengals rolling again with four wins and covers on the spin after slow 0-4 break from gate vs. spread.  Tech edge-Bengals, based on team trends.
SAN FRANCISCO at JACKSONVILLE… Niners limped into their bye week having lost and failed to cover three in a row. All news because SF had won 15 in a row in reg season previously and dropped only one of those vs. the line.  Jags are the hot ones now with wins and covers in five straight.   Tech edge-slight to Jags, based on recent trends.
NEW ORLEANS at MINNESOTA… Saints now 7-2 “under” this season, while Vikings were “under” six in a row before last weekend at Atlanta.  Minnesota also working on four wins and covers in a row.  Tech edge-“Under” and slight to Vikings, based on “totals” and recent trends.
GREEN BAY at PITTSBURGH… Pack had lost and failed to cover four in a row in front of Rams win last Sunday.  Green Bay also now “under” four straight this season.  Steel “under” six straight and 7-1 in 2023, also covers in five of last seven at home.  Tech edge-“Under” and slight to Steelers, based on “totals” and team trends.
TENNESSEE at TAMPA BAY…  Titans 0-4 SU, 1-3 vs. line away this season, also 6-2 “under”’ in 2023.  Bucs have failed to cover last three in Tampa, also “under” 5-1 last six this season.  Tech edge- “Under,” based on “totals” trends.
ATLANTA at ARIZONA… Falcons stumbling, just 1-7 vs. spread last eight this season. ATL also had five “unders” in a row in front of last week’s shootout vs. the Vikings.  Arthur Smith now 5-15 vs. spread since early 2022.  Meanwhile Cards have also dropped five of last six vs. spread since only SU win of season vs. Cowboys back on September 24. Tech edge-slight to “under,” based on “totals” trends.
DETROIT at LA CHARGERS… The Lions have only dropped two of eight spread decisions this season, and now 15-3 vs. line since mid 2022.   Bolts 0-2 as dog in 2023 after 5-1 mark in role last season. Chargers now on 5-1 “under” run after Monday night at the Jets. Tech edge-Lions and slight to “under,” based on team and “totals’ trends.
NY GIANTS at DALLAS… Not too sure the G-Men want to show up after getting routed 40-0 by Cowboys in opener. Dallas also won both meetings last season (1-1 vs. line). G-Men currently on 7-game “under” run. Cowboys 3-0 SU and vs. line at home this season, have now won and covered four straight at Arlington. Tech edge-Cowboys and “under,” based on team and “totals” trends.
WASHINGTON at SEATTLE… Ron Rivera now 4-1 vs. line away this season and 4-1-1 as underdog.  Wash also “under” last three on road. This is about the time the Seahawks started to skid last season, though they have won and covered their last three at home Tech edge-slight to Commanders and “under”, based on recent and “totals” trends.
NY JETS at LAS VEGAS… Jets had won a deceiving three in a row before the Monday Night flop vs. the Chargers, J-Men also “under” last three after the Bolts result. Raiders have won and covered last three at Allegiant Stadium, also 6-1 “under” last seven this season.  Tech edge-Raiders and “under,” based on team and “totals” trends.
DENVER at BUFFALO (Monday, November 13)… Teams haven’t met since late in the Covid 2020 season when Bills romped 48-19 at Mile High.  But Buffalo now on 5-game spread skid after losing at Cincy, while Broncos have won and covered back-to-back for first time this season. Denver also “under” three in a row off of its bye week.  Bills 6-3 “under” this season.  Tech edge-slight to broncos and “under,” based on recent and “totals” trends.
