FanDuel has released numbers for the sides, totals and money-line prices for eight potential matchups in the NFC and AFC Championship Games.
Let’s start on the NFC side of the bracket. The top-seeded Detroit Lions (15-2 straight up, 11-5 against the spread) are listed as 2.5-point home favorites (at a -120 price) vs. second-seeded Philadelphia with a total of 51.5 (‘over’ -115, ‘under’ -105). Dan Campbell’s team is -148 on the money line, while the Eagles have +126 odds to win outright.
Detroit is a 6.5-point home ‘chalk.’ vs. the Los Angeles Rams, who have +265 money-line odds. As of Wednesday afternoon, the total was 52.5 points (‘over’ -115, ‘under’ -105).
The Lions hosted the Rams in the Wild Card Round last season, winning a 24-23 decision as a three-point home favorite. The 47 combined points dropped ‘under’ the 53-point total.
L.A. had to settle for short field goals by Brett Maher from 24, 27 and 29 yards out on three separate trips into the red zone.
These teams had a rematch at Ford Field in Week 1 this season. Once again, Detroit won a thriller, but it needed overtime to capture a 26-20 victory. Unlike last time, the Lions hooked up their backers with an extremely fortunate spread cover as 5.5-point home ‘chalk.’
Detroit’s Jake Bates buried a 32-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining to force OT. In the extra period, David Montgomery scored on a one-yard TD run.
Speaking of Montgomery, he was a full participant during Detroit’s walk through on Tuesday and at Wednesday’s practice. After missing three games with an MCL injury, Montgomery is ‘probable’ for Saturday’s showdown vs. Washington.
If the Commanders advance to the NFC Championship Game by pulling an upset at Detroit, they’ll be underdogs against the Eagles or the Rams. FanDuel has Philadelphia installed as a 6.5-point home favorite (-102 price) vs. Washington with a total of 47.5. Dan Quinn’s club is +220 on the money line.
These division rivals split of a pair of regular-season meetings. Washington led 10-3 at Philadelphia with less than six minutes left in the third quarter, but the Eagles scored 23 unanswered points and eventually won a 26-16 decision as 4.5-point home favorites on Nov. 14. The 42 combined points stayed ‘under’ the 49.5-point tally.
In a rematch on Dec. 22, Philadelphia jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first quarter. However, QB Jalen Hurts was forced to leave the game with a concussion sustained on his team’s second drive.
Nevertheless, the Eagles led 27-14 going into the final stanza. But Jayden Daniels led three TD drives in the fourth quarter, as the Commanders rallied to win 36-33 as four-point home underdogs.
The 69 combined points soared ‘over’ the 47-point total. Daniels had 258 passing yards and 81 rushing yards on only nine attempts. He shook off a pair of interceptions to throw a career-high five TD passes.
The L.A. Rams are a 2.5-point home ‘chalk’ vs. Washington with a total of 48.5. The Commanders have +120 money-line odds.
Kansas City (15-2 SU, 8-9 ATS) is a 1.5-point favorite (at even money) vs. Baltimore (13-5 SU, 11-6-1 ATS) with a total of 46.5. The Ravens, who have +122 juice on +1.5 bets, are -106 on the money line compared to -110 for the Chiefs.
In Week 1, Andy Reid’s team beat Baltimore 27-20 as a 2.5-point home favorite. The 47 combined points inched ‘over’ the 46-point total on Justin Tucker’s 32-yard field goal with 4:54 left.
The Ravens had a 25-21 edge in first downs, a 452-353 advantage in total yards and controlled time of possession (33:43-26:17). They also ran 74 plays compared to Kansas City’s 50.
But a Baltimore fumble handed the Chiefs three points, a failed fourth-and-3 play from midfield resulted in another Kansas City field goal and Tucker missed a field goal. Lamar Jackson completed 26-of-41 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown without an interception. He also had 122 rushing yards on 16 attempts.
KC’s Patrick Mahomes connected on 20-of-28 passes for 291 yards and one TD with one interception.
The Chiefs are 1.5-point home ‘chalk’ vs. Buffalo, and they’re -122 on the money line. The Bills have +104 odds to win outright, while the total is 48.5 points (‘under’ -115, ‘over’ -105).
Kansas City lost 30-21 at Buffalo on Nov. 17 as a 2.5-point road underdog. The 51 combined points elevated ‘over’ the 47.5-point total on Josh Allen’s 26-yard TD run with 2:17 remaining.
Allen hit 27-of-40 passes for 262 yards and one TD with one pick. He had 55 rushing yards and one TD on 12 attempts. James Cook had a pair of rushing TDs. Mahomes had three TD passes, but he was limited to 196 passing yards and was intercepted twice.
If the Texans pull an upset at Arrowhead Stadium, they’ll be 9.5-point road underdogs (-115 price) at Baltimore with a total of 45.5 (‘over’ -115, ‘under’ -105). They lost at home to the Ravens by a 31-2 score on Christmas Day.
DeMeco Ryans’ squad has +370 odds to win outright.
Buffalo is an 8.5-point home favorite (at a -105 price) vs. Houston with a total of 47.5 (‘under’ -115, ‘over’ -105). The Texans are +320 underdogs against the Bills.
