Edlow has four sides and a parlay suggestion for Saturday’s Bowl Bonanza

It’s been a solid bowl season so far — 5-1 on my plays here at MajorWager. Saturday should be one of the most exciting days of the year in college football, and I’ll be putting plays in on all four games.

Camping World Bowl, 12:00 p.m. ET: Iowa State vs Notre Dame: ND -3.5

Iowa State couldn’t have finished the season worse, going just 1-4 ATS. Notre Dame had the opposite finish, covering four in a row. Spread aside, the Irish finished the regular season defeating Stanford, Boston College, Navy and Duke by over 29 points per game.

My only worry would be ND looking past this game since it failed to make the College Football Playoff like it did last season. But a locked in Irish squad dominates in this spot.

Cotton Bowl12:00 p.m. ET: Memphis vs. Penn State: MEM +7

Penn State is another team that had hopes of playing for a championship. It was in the initial College Football Playoff reveal at No. 4 overall, then lost to Minnesota the next week. That was the start of a 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS finish to the season. Memphis is the ideal opponent to upset Penn State, coming in on a seven-game winning steak, sitting at 12-1. The Tigers want to prove they belong.

Peach Bowl, 4:00 p.m. ET: Oklahoma vs. LSU: LSU -13.5

I played this at 12.5 a couple of weeks ago, and it’ll be my smallest play of the day. A big number, around 14, is tempting to play Oklahoma, but LSU is still the side I want to be on. LSU is averaging just under 50 points over its last five games, and it’s facing a Sooners defense that gave up 48 to Kansas State this season.

Oklahoma also has three players suspended, including its best pass rusher, and a starting safety is injured. The Sooners are on a 1-5 ATS skid. LSU should keep rolling.

Fiesta Bowl, 8:00 p.m. ET: Clemson vs. Ohio State: CLEM -125

Clemson sits in the perfect spot, feeling like it still has everything to prove. But since the one-point victory over UNC, the Tigers have gone 7-1 ATS, while averaging close to 52 points per game. Ohio State is a great team, but just 1-3 ATS in its last four, and easily could’ve lost games to the likes of Penn State and Wisconsin. Clemson should prove to be the more polished team. On top of betting the ML, I like parlaying it with LSU ML for plus-money.
