The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has installed Milwaukee (58-24 straight up, 44-36-2 against the spread) as the +300 favorite to win the 2023 NBA championship. Boston, the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, has the next-shortest odds at +350.

Although Phoenix is the No. 4 seed in the West, it has the next-shortest odds at +500. The West’s sixth-seeded Golden St. Warriors, who are looking to win their fifth NBA title in the last nine years, have +800 odds.

Denver, the No. 1 seed in the West, is at +900, followed by the Lakers at +1200 (or 12/1). LeBron, AD & Co. host Minnesota tonight in the play-in tournament as an 8.5-point home favorite.

The Timberwolves will be without Rudy Gobert, who has been suspended by the club for throwing a punch at teammate, Kyle Anderson, in their regular-season finale. We should specify that the “punch” wasn’t directed at Anderson’s head. Gobert did not travel with the team, according to multiple reports.

Also, Minnesota will be without Jaden McDaniels, who broke his right hand Sunday punching a wall. McDaniels averaged 12.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.0 blocked shots and 0.9 steals per game during the regular season. Gobert averaged 13.4 points, 11.6 rebounds and 1.4 BPG.

If the Lakers win tonight, they’ll secure the No. 7 seed and face Memphis in the first round. Speaking of the Grizzlies, they have 16/1 odds. They’ll be without Stephen Adams (8.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 blocked shots and 0.9 steals per game) and Brandon Clarke (10.0 PPG, 5.5 RPG) during the postseason.

The Cavaliers and Clippers share 40/1 odds. Cleveland is the No. 4 seed in the East and will face the Knicks in the opening round. The Cavs are six-point home favorites in Game 1 and -205 ‘chalk’ to win the series at FanDuel.

The fifth-seeded Clippers are +330 underdogs to advance past Phoenix in the first round. The Suns are 7.5-point home favorites in Sunday’s series opener. According to Stadium’s NBA Insider Shams Charania, George is making progress in recovering from his sprained knee, but he’s not expected to be ready until the second round if his team advances.

Sacramento, the No. 3 seed in the West, isn’t getting much respect with its 60/1 odds. The Kings are one-point home ‘chalk’ for Saturday’s Game 1 vs. Golden St., but FanDuel has the Warriors as -260 favorites to win the series. Mike Brown’s squad is a +215 underdog.

The odds for the rest of the postseason field look like this: New York (100/1), Miami (100/1), Minnesota (100/1), Brooklyn (150/1), Atlanta (200/1), Toronto (200/1), New Orleans (200/1), Oklahoma City (300/1) and Chicago (300/1).

The Hawks are five-point road underdogs tonight at Miami in the play-in tournament.

In Wednesday’s play-in tournament games, New Orleans is a five-point home favorite vs. OKC and Toronto is a five-point home ‘chalk’ vs. Chicago.

Zion Williamson is ‘out’ for the Pelicans. If they advance into the playoffs, he is ‘doubtful’ due to the hamstring strain he sustained back in early January.
