Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor released a statement Monday afternoon about the abrupt cancellation of the UFC 303’s sold-out press conference in Dublin, Ireland.

The UFC announced the postponement late Sunday night. The event was scheduled for Monday at noon Eastern.

In a post to his Twitter account, McGregor wrote: “In consultation with the UFC, today’s press conference was cancelled due to a series of obstacles outside of our control. I apologize to my Irish fans, and fans around the world, for the inconvenience and appreciate all your passion and support. I can’t wait to put on the greatest all-time show in the Octagon.”

At his UFC 302 post-fight presser well past midnight late Saturday night, Dana White said he “was about to get on a plane right now [for Dublin].” Michael Chandler was reportedly informed that the event was called off just before boarding his flight.

The UFC’s announcement came via a Twitter post Sunday night at 11:00 p.m. Eastern:

“The UFC303 press conference scheduled for Monday June 3rd in Dublin, Ireland at 3Arena has been postponed until further notice.  We sincerely apologize to all the fans who were planning to attend.  When we have further information on a new date and time, we will share it immediately. – Thank you.”

The development has led to rampant speculation on social media. Is McGregor injured? Is the UFC 303 fight in jeopardy?

Let’s hope not. The promotion released a killer trailer for McGregor-Chandler during the UFC 302 show.

As of late Monday night, Dana White hadn’t addressed the cancellation.

The news hasn’t impacted the betting odds. DraftKings has Chandler installed as a -115 favorite vs. the former two-division champ who has a -102 price.

BetMGM has Chandler at -115 with McGregor at -105. Caesars has the welterweight scrap as a pick ’em (-110 either way). FanDuel has the total at 1.5 rounds (‘over’ -136, ‘under’ +108).

UFC 303 is set for June 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
