DraftKings posted odds for UFC Seattle on Jan. 14. The 11-fight show will take place on Feb. 22 with a pair of bantamweight scraps at the top of the card.

In the headliner, eighth-ranked Song Yadong (21-8-1-1 MMA, 10-3-1-0 UFC) will take on seventh-ranked former double champion Henry Cejudo. Yadong, the 27-year-old product of China who trains in Sacramento with Team Alpha Male, is in bounce-back mode after dropping a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) to former 135-pound champ Petr Yan at UFC 299 last March.

Yadong has 12 career finishes, including nine knockouts and three submissions. He has five KOs and one submission during his UFC tenure that stretches back to 2017. Yadong owns notable scalps over the likes of sixth-ranked Marlon Vera, former title challenger Marlon Moraes, Casey Kenney and Ricky Simon.

After retiring for nearly three years, Cejudo (16-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has lost a pair of close decisions to former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling and current 135-pound kingpin Merab Dvalishvili. In the UFC 288 main event on May 6 of 2023, Sterling won a split decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47) over Cejudo to retain his belt.

Then at UFC 298 in Anaheim last February, Dvalishvili won a UD (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) over Cejudo to earn himself a title shot against Sean O’Malley, who had beaten Sterling to win the bantamweight strap, only to lose the belt to Sterling’s Team Longo teammate, Dvalishvili.

Before retiring, Cejudo ripped off six straight wins and became a double champ by winning the belts at flyweight and bantamweight. After unseating the promotion’s only previous 125-pound champ, Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson, he defended that strap with a 32-second KO win over then-bantamweight champ, T.J. Dillashaw.

With Dillashaw testing positive for EPO and getting a two-year suspension, the 135-pound title was left vacated. Cejudo went up and defeated Moraes by third-round KO at UFC 238.

Cejudo, who is now 37, defended the bantamweight championship with a second-round KO win over former champ, Dominick Cruz. Then he left his gloves in the Octagon and went into retirement.

DraftKings opened Yadong as a -215 ‘chalk’ vs. Cejudo. However, the odds moved to -205 several hours later. Cejudo was +170 on the comeback as of the afternoon of Jan. 15.

In the co-main event, the 39-year-old Cruz (24-4 MMA, 7-3 UFC) is going to face ninth-ranked Rob Font in his retirement fight. DraftKings opened Font (21-8 MMA, 10-7 UFC) as a -180 favorite, leaving Cruz with +150 underdog odds. Those numbers remained intact when this story was filed.

Font had a four-fight winning streak from 2018 into May of 2021, collecting wins over Sergio Pettis, Simon, Moraes and former champion, Cody Garbrandt. However, the 37-year-old Font is mired in a 2-4 slump in his six scraps since then.

With that said, Font is off a UD win over 12th-ranked Kyler Phillips. In addition, the four defeats came against Cory Sandhagen (currently ranked fourth, former title challenger), Deiveson Figueiredo (currently ranked fifth, former flyweight champ), Jose Aldo (currently ranked 11th, former featherweight champ and former 135 title challenger) and Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera (currently ranked sixth, former title challenger).

Cruz is the former WEC bantamweight champ and the former two-time UFC bantamweight kingpin. He has battled multiple injuries throughout his career. In fact, Cruz was sidelined from early October of 2011 until returning to the Octagon on Sept. 27 of 2014.

After Cruz ran through Takeya Mizugaki with a 61-second KO win at UFC 178, another injury kept him out until January of 2016 when he claimed the bantamweight title again with a split-decision win over Dillashaw at UFC Boston.

After successfully defending the belt against Urijah Faber at UFC 199, he lost the strap to Garbrandt via UD at UFC 207 on Dec. 30 of 2016. Cruz didn’t fight at all in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Nevertheless, he was given a title shot upon his return but lost to Cejudo at UFC 249. But in 2021, Cruz collected back-to-back victories over Kenney and Pedro Munhoz. In his last bout at UFC San Diego on Aug. 13 of 2022, Cruz lost to Vera via fourth-round KO.

Other fights on the UFC Seattle card include Edson Barboza vs. Steve Garcia in a featherweight showdown, Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev in a heavyweight battle and Brendan Allen vs. Anthony Hernandez in a welterweight scrap.

DraftKings has Garcia listed as a -135 favorite vs. Barboza (+114), while Hernandez is -325 vs. Allen (+260). Blaydes is a -258 ‘chalk’ vs. Kuniev (+210) in his return from a 60-second KO loss to Tom Aspinall this past summer.
