We hit on both title fights that were booked for UFC 272 this past week.
However, as is often the case in combat sports, things change due to injuries, and we’re going to have wait for the trilogy bout between Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski and Max Holloway.
Holloway was forced to pull out of the scrap just two days after putting pen to paper due to an undisclosed injury.
According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Holloway aggravated a previous injury.
Several featherweights have taken to social media to express interest in replacing Holloway against the 145-pound kingpin. Henry Cejudo, the former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion is one of those fighters.
Others include sixth-ranked Josh Emmett, third-ranked Yair Rodriguez and fourth-ranked Chan ‘The Korean Zombie’ Sung Jung. My guess is that TKZ will get the nod.
