Futures Update: DraftKings has UGA as +120 ‘chalk’ to win CFP

Ohio St. QB CJ Stroud has the third-shortest odds to win the Heisman behind QBs Matt Corral and Bryce Young.

The college football futures market saw its first real shift last week when Alabama lost to Texas A&M as an 18-point favorite, but not much changed in Week 7.

Top-ranked Georgia continues to sit at the top of the market, remaining the +100 title ‘chalk’ at Circa Sports. The Bulldogs moved slightly from +125 to +120 at DraftKings following their comfortable win over Kentucky.

Alabama, which dipped to +395 at Circa Sports following the upset at College Station, has moved to +235 after covering the spread at Mississippi State. DraftKings and other books never moved the Crimson Tide past +240, so Circa was the only shop to make a significant adjustment.

Georgia and Alabama appear to be on a collision course for a meeting in Atlanta this December. The Bulldogs are -125 favorites to win the SEC title at Circa, while Nick Saban’s team is +118. Ole Miss is the only team with a legitimate outside shot, but it is still priced at 20/1 entering Week 8.

The Rebels were able to hold off Tennessee 31-26 at Neyland Stadium over the weekend, covering as 1-point favorites. Quarterback Matt Corral is a +250 co-favorite with Alabama signal-caller Bryce Young to win the Heisman Trophy.

Corral has been an outstanding passer this season, but it was his legs that carried Ole Miss to a victory on Saturday night. He rushed 30 times for 195 yards against the Vols, continuously picking up first downs on draw plays or scrambles.

Young had an efficient day in Alabama’s 49-9 win at Mississippi State, completing 20 of 28 passes for 348 yards and four touchdowns. He had thrown an interception in each of his previous three games, but he played a clean game against the Bulldogs.

Ohio State freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud (+950) is the only other player who is inside of 10/1 to win the Heisman. He has now thrown five touchdown passes in consecutive games, positioning the Buckeyes as -145 favorites to win the Big Ten. They also have the third-shortest CFP title odds at +700.

Pittsburgh (+150) has surpassed Clemson (+280) as the ACC title favorite. They are going to square off on Saturday afternoon—the Panthers are currently 3-point favorites.
