One DraftKings bettor had a rough Tuesday night betting on the NBA Playoffs.
As you now know, Denver captured a 147-140 win over Portland in double overtime last night. The win gave the Nuggets a 3-2 series lead going into Thursday’s Game 6 at Portland.
The DraftKings bettor can’t be mad at Portland perennial All-Star guard Damian Lillard, who became the first player in NBA playoff history to score 55 points and dish out 10 assists.
With the clock running out at the end of regulation, Lillard buried a trying trey with 3.0 seconds remaining to force the first extra session.
Then at the end of the first overtime, Lillard struck again with a step-back 3-pointer to knot the score again and force double OT.
Then at the end of double OT, Lillard threw across the court to CJ McCollum on the left wing. McCollum is a helluva player and one of the NBA’s better shooting guards, but he made an inconceivable mistake, pivoting out of bounds on the sideline with 9.1 seconds left.
Four free throws put the icing on the cake for the Nuggets, who are five-point underdogs for Thursday’s Game 6 at Portland.
