BetOnline has released its odds on who will become Dan Mullen’s replacement as the next head football coach at Florida.
The offshore betting shop opened Louisiana’s Billy Napier as the +350 favorite. Within the last hour, BetOnline has adjusted to Napier to the +140 ‘chalk.’
The next-shortest odds belong to Ole Miss HC Lane Kiffin (+500). Oregon HC Mario Cristobal initially was third on this list with +550 odds. However, in the last hour, Cristobal has moved to +900 odds.
The opening odds from earlier today had former Oklahoma HC and Florida DC (from 1996-98) Bob Stoops at +800, but he’s now at 10/1 (or +1000). Bob’s brother Mark, the Kentucky HC, opened at +800 and remains there. Ditto for Penn St. HC James Franklin.
The coaches with the next-shortest odds include the likes of Cincinnati HC Luke Fickell (10/1), Iowa St. HC Matt Campbell (12/1), Dallas Cowboys DC Dan Quinn (16/1), Alabama OC Bill O’Brien (16/1) and Wake Forest HC Dave Clawson (16/1).
Why on earth BetOnline would choose to put Deion Sanders on the board is beyond me, but the Jackson St. HC is at 25/1. Coastal Carolina HC Jamey Chadwell also has 25/1 odds.
Urban Meyer (50/1) and Tim Tebow (100/1) are also on the board.
I broke down the candidates for the Florida job in yesterday’s article on Mullen’s dismissal and in a piece two weeks ago after Mullen fired DC Todd Grantham.
