Some big bettors are not backing down from Tom Brady and Tampa Bay.
According to Todd Dewey of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a bettor at BetMGM placed a $250,000 wager on New Orleans -3 for Sunday night’s showdown between Brady and Drew Brees. The Saints opened as 3.5-point favorites before the early betting action bumped the line down to -3.
BetMGM also took a $250,000 wager on a two-team parlay of New Orleans -3 and Buffalo -2 (vs. Ravens). The parlay will pay $630,000 if both small favorites cover the spread.
Buffalo opened as a 3.5-point ‘chalk’ before the line was driven down to 2.5. The Bills failed to cover as 6.5-point favorites against Indianapolis in their Wild Card game last week.
The BetMGM bets are not the only big wagers on New Orleans this weekend. A William Hill customer placed a $120,000 bet on the Saints -3 (-120) on Friday.
New Orleans is not getting a ton of love from the general public this weekend, though. According to BetMGM, the Saints are only in the top five in ticket percentage in the state of Mississippi.
The most-bet team of the week so far is Green Bay, which is leading the way in all nine of BetMGM’s operational states. The Packers opened as seven-point favorites and have been moved down to -6.5, despite all the public love for them.
Los Angeles quarterback Jared Goff and defensive tackle Aaron Donald are both listed as ‘probable’ with injuries. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp is listed as ‘questionable’ with a knee injury.
Buffalo has the second-most tickets in six of BetMGM’s nine states, while Cleveland is listed with the third-most tickets. Tampa Bay rounds out the top four most-bet teams for the NFL’s Divisional Round.
