BetMGM is paying out massive parlays on back-to-back-days.
A bettor hit a six-team underdog NBA parlay on Tuesday, cashing for more than $52,000. Wednesday night brought a six-team NHL parlay, which was once again all underdogs.
The bettor placed the wager online in Colorado, cashing the $300 parlay for $117,563.40.
The parlay started early in the afternoon, as the NHL played games throughout the day in the bubble. Florida staved off elimination with a 3-2 win against the New York Islanders in the opening game, cashing as a +175 underdog.
Arizona rattled off three goals in the third period during the second game on Wednesday, pulling away from Nashville with a 4-1 win. The Coyotes were the second leg of the parlay at +185.
Tampa Bay improved to 2-0 in the three-game round-robin for the NHL’s top teams, beating Boston 3-2. The Lightning cashed their +155 odds on a Tyler Johnson goal with 87 seconds left in the game.
The fourth leg of the parlay turned out to be the easiest, as Colorado skated past Dallas in a 4-0 blowout. Colorado was the shortest underdog on the card at +115 and cruised to the round-robin win.
Montreal was the biggest underdog of the day at +220. The Canadiens had already started to focus their attention to next season before COVID-19 forced the NHL season to pause in March.
They have taken advantage since the restart. Montreal came back from a two-goal deficit against No. 5 Pittsburgh on Wednesday, winning the game 4-3 and taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five qualifying series.
Chicago also won by a 4-3 score to cap off the parlay. The Blackhawks tied the game with a little more than five minutes left and Jonathan Toews scored the game winner with one minute remaining to cash as +185 ‘dogs.
The most improbable part of the parlay might be that all six teams had to win in regulation. If any of the teams had been forced to overtime, the parlay would have lost.
