really a shame that Russia has regressed from where they were before Putin took over. western businesses were setting up shop there, new inroads for western democracy was incubating, and then .... pfftt!

now their tanks/apc's have taken over 1/3 of Georgia, and while the west yaps about how they must leave the soveriegn territory of Georgia, instead they move in SS-22 missiles on the southern border of Osettia, and the prez of Osettia is requesting a permenent Russian military base installed.

.... and there aint sh*t the west can do, except talk.


personally, i think Georgia/the west should back-off about maintaining Ossetia in the Georgian territory. hell, they have wanted to break off from the bigger state for over a decade, and they actually voted on it, but the west wont recognize their desires ....

Russia aint leaving, whether they say they'll withdraw or not. they're too afraid of having ABMs right on their southern border pointed at Moscow.

the west needs to take the high road here and begin negotiating based on the desires of Ossetia .... JMO
