WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States must move to rein in its massive budget deficits or it faces the risk

"We've got to resolve this issue before it gets forced upon us," Greenspan said of the ballooning U.S. debt levels.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A new report from a congressional watchdog says the disarray stemming from flawed foreclosure documents could
threaten major banks with billions of dollars in losses, deepen the disruption in the housing market and hurt the government's effort to
keep people in their homes.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Treasurys took a beating Monday, lifting interest rates to their highest levels in more than three months,
after the government reported a surge in retail sales and the Federal Reserve's $600 billion bond-buying program came under attack.
The Fed bought $7.92 billion in Treasurys as part of that plan Monday. But the purchases failed to push prices up and lower yields.

Starnet Gypsy,

Basically, these Rare Metal Stocks rallied on Chinaīs restriction of export due to an Island dispute with Japān.
In addition with more investors becoming aware of the Rare Metals long term supply/demand situation.
As expected, now that China as removed the export restrictions, they pull back.
Greenland Minerals and Energy is now at 82 cents.

Right now, I really feel that weīre seeing a top in the Stock Market for a while.
Not necessarily a bad time to stay on the sidelines.
I was about a Quarter early on my call for a decline.
Itīs the 4th and 1st quarters that earnings are expected to be disappointing. The 3rd Quarter proved to be rather robust.

Here is a something that I read today:

In the respected British publication's audit of "Earth's natural wealth," David Cohen writes that reserves of elements from platinum
(used not only in every pollution-reducing automobile catalytic converter in use today but also in fuel cells) to indium
(used in flat-screen TVs and computer monitors) and tantalum (used in mobile phones) are "being used up at an alarming rate."
These metals are chemical elements -- no synthetic replacement can be developed.

Even more common metals like zinc and copper are in increasingly short supply as they are used in rapidly developing economies like
India and China. Over the last year thefts of copper from power lines and electrical substations have soared, as has the price of copper.

Cohen cites the work of researchers like Armin Reller, a materials chemist at the University of Augsburg in Germany, who has predicted
that supplies of indium, used in liquid-crystal displays, and of hafnium, a critical element for next-generation semiconductors, could be
exhausted by 2017. The world's zinc will be gone by 2037, Reller contends.

In the future there should be a lot of opportunites in these sectors.

thanks for your reply and keep on trucking....

The bailout is estimated to be around 85 billion Euros.

"insider-trading laws generally do not apply to lawmakers, leaving them free to
trade on nonpublic information."...
the Wall Street Journal

A 2004 study of the results of stock trading by United States Senators during the 1990s found that that
senators on average beat the market by 12% a year. In sharp contrast, U.S. households on average
underperformed the market by 1.4% a year and even corporate insiders on average beat the market by
only about 6% a year during that period.
A reasonable inference is that some Senators had access to - and were using - material nonpublic information
about the companies in whose stock they trade.

Despite a stubbornly sour national economy congressional members' personal wealth collectively increased by
more than 16 percent between 2008 and 2009, according to a new study by the Center for Responsive Politics.
Nearly half of them -- 261 -- are millionaires,
That compares to about 1 percent of Americans who lay claim to the same lofty fiscal status.

Fallout from the ongoing "robo-signing" foreclosure scandal may cost major banks billions, shake the foundations
