BG,

Big Swing and a miss yesterday.
On lower oil prices and a good report from Wells Fargo.
Weīve seen this scenario before.
High inflation numbers posted, offset by lower oil prices due to a jump in inventories(ie. less demand).
Which traders view as meaning lower future inflation.
Eventually there will be a realization that lower oil demand means lower earnings.
Then Market will head down.

Itīs going to be difficult to forecast this Market under these conditions.
Hurray, oil, thus inflation are going down. The Marketīs UP.
Oh no, that means less earnings. The Market Down.

Yesterday is a good expample why itīs hard to guess the direction prior to the Bell.
One just doesnīt know what kind of news may affect the Market during the course of the day.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. and United Technologies Corp. -- issued comments that generally
indicated that their businesses are holding up despite sometimes difficult economic conditions.


JP Morgan profits fall 53% on loan losses.
Coco-Cola 2Q profits fell 23%
Continental lost 2 million for the 2nd Quarter (compared to +228 mil. 2ndQ ī07)

Housing Starts slowest in 17 years, by changes in New York Code help.

Citigroup Inc. posts 2.5 Billion dollar lost, but thatīs good news
because itwas less than expected.
Market should continue to rally.

I thought that you made the better call.
The Market had been up substantial two das in a row,
and there was a better chance of it going down.
As luck would have it.
Today, only economic report in the Leading Indicators.
Anticipate that the report will be slightly below Market expectations.
