In the big (faded) one, I like PSG. That was a big lift they got, drawing otr midweek in CL play. They've been talking turn around. Marseille, otoh, still a fade.
PSG PK +145 (.3 units at CNB, to draw, 3.27; .7 units to win at PIN, 3.50)

Maybe also Auxerre will be ready to upset the UEFA tired and distracted home side in theirs. Leaning that way, getting 5.00 and 3.40 at Canbet.

Good luck.

Nope, definitely not. One to fade.

Does anyone really win money on soccer? And how in the hell do you handicap it?

Yeah, same as anything else. Number crunching, experience, lots of work, research, etc.

Bubba, I posted over 100 plays last year, with an ROI over 15% (win/loss records aren't useful for tracking soccer handicapping, because the bets are usually moneyline, often, for me, dogs).

On MLS and Mexican League games, the two leagues I get to watch on television, my ROI is close to 20% on over 80 bets (although most weren't posted here, sorry.)

But it takes work, of course, and I'm afraid I haven't been able to do well in the leagues I've tried to add this year, France and Italy. England and Spain, I'm only about even. Champion's League, too, but that's the most fun one.

And just to do it, I've reviewed my posted picks here for this calendar year. But I'm not sure how to count some of them, because for the real long shots, and post them for fun and suggestion (and feedback? I'd be so lucky ), and this weekend I mentioned three (ManCity, Auxerre, Bilbao), all of which lost, only one of which I bet (Bilbao).
Whatever. I'm not a tout.

Anyway, I figure myself +4.13 units on 16 settled bets (that is, not counting two pushes) without counting the two longshots I suggested but didn't wager. The point I'm making by tracking myself here last year, and now I guess again this year, is to encourage more people to take up the sport.

IF I keep posting picks, I'll try to be more precise then in my language. But again, I'm not selling nothing, and if the forum could get busy enough, I'd like to suggest bets just to inspire discussion.

And btw, if any of my picks ever seem like a bad idea, SAY SO! Especially if you can articulate a reason why. I've got a good record at backing off picks; it isn't something I mind doing.

well, these are harder, as more attention paid, more money bet, more info known/in media, etc., so more bookie attention paid.

True. I sometimes think I'm the only one betting MLS, so I have an advantage there. Huge mistakes in the line, sometimes. EPL, otoh, gets all the attention. Finding a relatively obscure league and focusing on it is a good ticket in any sport.

Pok,

a) where do you get information on the leagues you play; and

b) where do you play that consistently has the best odds for you?

Turko, I've got more than 20 websites I use. That's weeded out of many more.

Start at Bethelp.com, they'll link you till your eyes bleed.

But for starters, onefootball, planetfootball, soccernet, BBC sports, football365, zoomsoccer, sportsya, bigsoccer, internetsoccer, the gooner's guide, zoobet, betbrain, tipex, worldtimeclock (needed for this international sport). Soccerbot for stats, and internationalsoccerserver. AV2 used to have a GREAT site for stats, footballone, but it's down for now.

Dig in, come up for air later.
