Gotta think Serbia (100/1) to win it is worth a shot at SIA. They were better than Spain in qualifying. Odds look too long.

Santa Cruz not expected to play for Paraguay vs England. How big of a deal is this? Four years ago, all the crosses fed into the lanky Santa Cruz. Does Paraguay have an equal replacement for Santa Cruz? As stated elsewhere in this forum, if Paraguay's health is ok, have to believe Paraguay (+.75 balls) is worth a look.

They are very dependant regarding Santa Cruz.Saw them against Norway yesterday(2-2).Norway pressured the game and were clearly the better team.
Paraguay doesnīt look good at all.

Furthermore,Norway isnīt a specially good team to start with-and against Paraguay they didnīt play up to their normal standard.
John Carew said after the game that Sweden will have no trouble beating Paraguay, something like 2-0.
They had a funny little guy as keeper.Good on the line, totally worthless outside the line. Two headers from Frode Johnsen resulted in two Norwegian goals. It boggles the mind when thinking what will happen when Peter Crouch stands there up front. The little keeper canīt compete. He was decent on the line though-but saved shots with his butt and stomach.
Itīs the same old Paraguay-only not as good this time.Chilavert is a BIG loss for them.Gamarra still looks OK though,he is a classplayer-but not as dominant as in the past.Acuna central midfield keyplayer looks very vulnerable when pressed.Mostly passes sideways anyway.Older and slower.
Nelson Valdez upfront a good forward though, but besides Santa Cruz no one to combine with.
Paraguay will try to hold on tight and counter. They counter rather quick, turns the play okay.Still, with that goalie,Santa Cruz out or out of shape and other keyplayers older and not as good-no qualifying this time from the group stage for Paraguay.
Sweden and England will have a day off last game.We will both have six points after two games. No surprises in Group B IMHO.

Day off when you're trying to decide whether to play Germany or Poland/Costa Rica? Maybe the same type of day off that Sweden/Denmark had at Euro... Still makes me puke, but at least the italians deserve everything they get.

Fellas:

I have to believe this is a good bet:

(SIA) Sweden to win group (+220)

Consider the injuries for Paraguay and England. Roque Santa Cruz status a problem. England has NEVER beaten Sweden head-to-head, right? Have to figure this is pretty good value. Hard to see how England merits the current level of favoritism.

Not since 68 I believe...

Sweden has some issues with injuries as well. It's decent value, especially as they are fully capable of filling up T&T, something which England will most likely not do. I just don't know if they can break down Paraguay and if they can't win that game, they won't win the group.

Yep,we are decent value to win the group.
T&T will most probably be most on the UP for the England game-and we have not lost to England since 1968.We know England,we can play against England.
On the other side-weīve won both olympic gold and WC gold in...ishockey this year, because understanding that you donīt go all out on each and every occasion..only when necessary.
To tell the truth,we would like Ecuador(see this DG!..:-).Still,we have to take every opportunity to rest our keyplayers in the tourney.
England game...if not any pressure in it..could be anyoneīs game.Tell you a secret-we donīt fear Germany all that much, not even with them playing home soil.We WILL rest our keyplayers whenever we get the chance(ie,possibly against England). That MAY cost us the group win.No biggie. We look forward to beating Holland on penalties this time..in the quarterfinals!
Euros?..Sweden vs Denmark?..2-2 in the 89īth minute?...Donīt know what youīre talking bout man..:-).
Look,we beat Romania fair and square in 94.
