Bang a market into shape for me?
Inside our WC 2006 antepost section I've hoisted up some top scorer props. The limits right now are a hundred grocery dollars. That's small. With your help, by the time the tournament draws near, they should be good for nickels, and I'll try to cut the juice further if we get interest.
These are exchange type bets where you bet on or against a player to score the most goals outright. There are two wrinkles:
--The software can't handle ties or dead heats, so if you're betting on a player, and he finishes tied atop the scoring chart with another player, you LOSE. Fair is fair, so if you're opposing that player, you WIN. No partial wins or losses. As a result, the odds on players to be the highest scorer are a bit inflated to compensate for ties.
--Players must appear in three or more games for bets to stand for or against. This rule is here for a couple of reasons:
1) To encourage early betting
2) To try to be able to leave players on the board all the time rather than pull names down everytime somebody falls awkwardly or takes a knock in the next two months
This set of markets won't be as big as our yes/no to win the World Cup. Bets are flying in on that one, especially on/against Brazil. But if I can these rolling for nickels or better at 102%, it should be worthwhile for the sophisticated segment of our clientele.
Anyway if anybody wants to pye their money and tyke their choice for a hundred dollars (rebets at adjusted prices always welcome) be our guest.
