Default Belgian Soccer - inherently corrupt?

I'd be interested to know the full story, surely it'll come out soon enough, but eurosport.com report the following in their breaking news:-

--------------

Football 12:18
Second division Geel will be relegated at the end of the season after the Belgian FA found the club guilty of attempting to bribe players.

--------------

(NB They will also start next season with a 6 point deduction)

Apparently if they finish in the relegation places, they will be relegated two divisions and start next season with a 12 point deduction.

I was also reading that GBA are the 6th Jupiler League side to come under investigation THIS SEASON after they walloped Lierse 4-0 - again something to do with the Chinese fella who owned Allianssi for a short while last season.

What a tangled web! I'd be grateful for any links or a general precis of what's happened to date if anybody's got one,

Regards,

Parkendhead
