Default Big $$$ to be made on Polish presidential election

So far I see only Expekt putting up odds:

Donald Tusk 1.37
Lech Kaczyński 2.70

Take all you can on Kaczyński at 2.70 because you won't see anything close to that within a matter of days. His party won the elections (parliament/senate) and I'm fully convinced that he'll also win the presidential bid. The first round of elections takes place this Sunday. If nobody crosses the 50% mark in terms of votes then the top two candidates will meet again in the second round. This is a certainty as the elections will definitely not be decided this Sunday. On top of that the gap that Tusk had over his opponent has all but evaporated, and in the second round the odds will easily tilt the other way. Take the 2.70 now because after this Sunday it'll be close to pick'em so you'll even be able to sell this one off easily...

Second round coming up in two weeks. So far...:

Donald Tusk 36.33%
Lech Kaczyński 33.10%

Second round looks to favour the slight underdog. Hope you boys grabbed the 2.70 while it lasted!!

My goodness, Mr. LK is out to 4.30 at Expekt. Keep piling the money on! 4.30 is absolutely ridiculous for what is no less than a 45% chance right now and could be better than a coin toss by Sunday.

I'm already picking out a plasma tv screen (small change compared to what I'll be making) that I intend to buy next week. Any tips?

They're joing about that here all the time. He does have a twin brother though, who's party just won the parliamentary elections.

Up to 4.00 at Unibet now. Squares are really working in our favour by pounding what they assume to be a strong favourite.

Please tell me that ALL of you are going to make some money on this.

The odds have fallen all over the place with the best price at 2.75 right now. The election is now like a coin-toss with the polls indicating a 50.9% vs 49.1% ratio (and that's with a 2.5% margin of error).

Please, please tell me you've jumped on the high odds along with me....

I'm in the same boat. Came this close to buying a Panasonic 42-inch plasma but have decided to wait. There's too much going on with the technology and prices are dropping very fast.

I think I'll hold out for an LCD TV (lower energy consumption, no burn-in risk, etc.) sometime early next year. All I know is that something will be in place by the time the World Cup starts.

Goon, I was thinking about waiting until after Christmas. Don't the massive sell-outs happen right after, once all the major purchases that people intended to make have been finalized?

Don't get me wrong, fellas. This thread was clearly created with one aim: to make us all some money. I don't support this man politically. But I saw what was going on and made a strong stand in what was a clear misinterpretation by bookies and bettors alike.

Hope we all made some good $$$ here. In 4 years I'll be back with some more easy money for everyone in the parliamentaries and in 5 I'll be doing the same with the next presidential bid. In the meantime... it's back to 22 men chasing a football for 90 minutes.
