Who does not know Fabio Canavarro? He is a powerful player, strong in the air, having an outstanding technique. He is considered one of the greatest footballers in the entire world. He is presently playing defense for the Whites. He is also the captain of Italy’s national team, and the World Cup Winner. So, no one could argue with the fact that Canavarro is a complex player.
He made his debut in a Series A at the age of 20 with his hometown team-Naples. He made his appearance several times, but decided to move to FC Parma in the season 1995-1996. Canavarro soon made a good impression by winning the UEFA cup in addition to two Italian Cups. He became a very valuable player, and in 2003 he got a 23 million Euros worth offer from FC Internationale Milano that he couldn’t refuse. He played for this club for two seasons, but it was time to move on to Juventus in 2004. Here, he had the chance to prove his quality and skills, and succeeded to get the title. Canavarro was the one to place Juventus in the first place in the 2005-2006 season.
After these chain victories, Canavarro signed with Real Madrid in 2006. He has signed a contract of three years, for a huge amount, some say it would be somewhere near 20 million Euros.
In the Italy’s National team, he won an outstanding reputation-therefore he was named its captain. His debut was made in 1997, in a game against Northern Ireland. He helped the National team to qualify to the finals of the FIFA World Cup in 1998 as well as for the UEFA EURO 2000. The team has lost the final to France, but they got their revenge 4 years later, when they won the World Cup, humiliating France. This night was also Fabio’s 100th cap. Canavarro proved to be a good leader for the Italian National team, and he has helped the squad to get to unimaginable performances.
Despite his height, (1.75m), Canavarro is an excellent central defender, probably among the best in this field.
He almost won the Golden Ball, which ended in Zinedine Zidane’s hands, but many still think it was Canavarro who deserved it.
However, Fabio Canavarro was designated as a World Cup all-star, joining 6 of his teammates. Canavarro’s skills are uncontestable. He has the ability to judge a game and make his moves in real time, so that the defense is complete.
