I prefer the completed match rule.
I don't get to all the tournaments, so I don't know all the latest sickness situations. At least when a full match is required you are not disadvantaged by shrewd bookies with insider information on players' well being and you can focus on form and expected performance. There will always be the below par match, but that is something you can cope with.
I'd like all books to bet on the basis of match completed, then when one offers better odds I can be tempted. The current variety of rules, leaves me thinking shall I- shan't I risk a withdrawl.

i can see why most bookmakers would adopt this rule, willy hilly has
had it for mentioned above, there is no way to account
for injuries in the line and most players for appearance fees etc
will give it a go for a set to see if they can play through the
I know some people will point out, that a player who has
backed himself can retire and have his bet voided. But if you
believe tennis is this bent, why bother punting on it at all.
