Santa Anita 12-27
Race 2) ML fav. #3 is scratched. I like the 5 and 6. They both return to sprinting (7f) on the main track and have been working at SA. I wish the 3 wouldn't have scratched so he could take some money. I'll key 56 with 568. (slight edge to the 5)
Race 3) #11 Heat Haze makes her first start in the US. She has top connections and has been facing G1 Company over seas. She may want a little longer and would rather see a different Jockey, but all things considered, I think she is worth singling in the Pick six as there is no one even close the the horses she is used to running against in here.
Race 4) For all you soccer fans, I think #4 Beckham is the horse to beat. He ran a winning race last time off a 7seven month layoff. He should be on or near the lead of a slow pace. The other horses I'll use him with are the 6789.
Race 5) Scratch #10. Wide open race. I'll use the 13689.
Race 6) I like the #1 the best, I think she'll show the most speed and could get away from them at the top of the lane. I'll also use the 3,6,10,12.
Race 7) #4 Homorous Lady has been working well over this track for her return from a couple month break. I think the race will set up well for her with a fairly easy lead. She is another possible single in the pick 6. I'll use her with 7,9,10,11.
Race 8) The 6 looks like the horse to beat. He drops in class, blinkers on, and Victor stays. I'll use him with the 3,7,8,11.
ITP, I was very close all day at SA, but just couldn't get a break.
I had a little luck tonight though, somehow I had the Tri. in the 4th at Cal Expo and it paid pretty good. The 5 won the race but somehow got placed 4th. Did anyone see this race? Why did he get placed 4th. I heard the track announcer say the inquiry involved the 5 bothering the 6 so I thought if anything would happen, it would be the 5 being placed third and finishing 3-6-5. I was happy to see it come 3-6-8.
The 5 made a 2 step skip break (rolled out of pace for 2 strides) at the head of the lane and caused minor confusion directly behind him. It was a marginal call either way. I guess they thought he caused Louie to push Plano out a little bit, therefore he was put behind RP also. therefore being placed fourth.
