Default RE:Anyone with a bodog poker account and a funded neteller account?

I would never participate in this scam, Im merely curious about it. Who's left holding the bag in this type of scenario? Without knowing the ins & outs, I could see a scenario where the confederate could take the cashed out funds out from BoDog and even out of Neteller before the e-check on the other end comes back as bad. At the same time, BoDog and other sites must have some sort of recourse or else this loophole would be so obvious that no one would offer e-checks.

I think it works like this. Deposit via echeck. Get a bonus, transfer to the Poker Room, dump the chips into your "other hand" or buddys hand. Then bounce the echeck.

Not sure though but this has to be addressed because I dont think I have enough hair left to deal with 635 "xxyz robbed me" threads. I think I will start directing them all to Shoebox.

It also would work solo IF the sites weren't aware of the potential of abuse. The thing is, once poeple get a taste of bonus scamming, adding another account name for referal plus new bonus, etc, is hard to resist, and then Russ's scenario comes into play.

Say this guy is legit. He deposited $300 with a good e-check, received 20% bonus and played long enough for the extra 60 to be released. Obviously you just wait for the check to clear and for bodog to release your funds.

Thing that sends the red flags up to me is why would you deposit via check if you have Neteller? Beware

mc,

the book might allow you to bet using the funds from the uncleared check (but not take a withdrawal until it clears), while neteller will charge you 8.9% for the priveledge of having instant access to the funds generated from an instant ach.

Total Square,

If you deposit thru bodog website, they will cover the instacah fees. But if you use echeck, the will give you a lower roll.

This particular scam is actually 1 step up from the traditional chip dumping scheme. Usually the way it goes is 1 player deposits money via credit card or echeck. Dumps his chips to his friend then bounces the check or does a chargeback. The key is too make sure his friend withdraws prior to the poker room discovering that the check bounces or that there was a chargeback. The problem that the scammers are still faced with is that if the poker room detects what has happened they could tyr to get thier funds back from the player they paid. FOr instance, if they paid by neteller, they may contact neteller and see if they can reverse the payout. They may also pass the info to other poker rooms.

Whats ingenious about this scam, is that this player is hoping to suck in some poor unsuspecting player into it. So the stupisd player, wins the money, netellers the scammer the money minus 10%. Scammer immdiately withdraws the money from neteller, and bounces the check. The stupid player has no idea what is going on. So he os in no rush to withdraw all his funds from his bodog account. Then a few days from now, bodog security will lock his account and confiscate all his funds for being part of a chip dumping scheme. Bodog will get thier money back from the dumb player, and probbaly won't persue it much further. Scammer gets away scott free. And stupid player loses everything.

I'm just suprised this clown thinks anyone here would fall for it.

So, the deal is AK dumps $1k in chips to someone dumb enough to go along with his scam, who sends $900 to AK's neteller. When the guy goes to cash out he finds out he is now part of a fraud account ring, and they aren't going to pay him.

As always, Buyer Beware.

If they have any staff with half a brain in the place this would be flaqgged straight away and the "dumped funds" confiscated anyway. I have to catch these morons all day.

Since the scammer is offering to pay 1000 for 900, I do not think the 8.9% should have bothered him too much. This alone has scam written all over it. What a douche bag.
