Colemanator, I pulled it from hand history on BoDog. The 2-4 NL game around 3am or so. In the actual hand post I mentioned I had the recap in the original post a little off. Since I was going to bed, I wanted to let it go around all the way and call no matter what unless a decent raise.

hey there, i play pokerstars for 2 years now, mostly rebuy tournys. i started with 3R, 5R, 10R till i won a 10R. than i switched to higher ones. from than on bad beats started, as i never seen bevore. i lost every game, when i was favourit in a showdown and i saw , that very often the same players are in the high money places. does ps maby play a cheating game? are these players real ppl, or faked from ps? This changed starting last week. I decidedto give pokerstars a try and to get the 100% sign up bonus...what a bad move. Now, I havent lost any money, over the past week I've gotten ahead, but only 150$ since i got a few wins on some 78$ tables...But at first I noticed it seemed like bad beats were the norm. So I disimiised these thoughts at first thinking I was just having some bad luck. But I played about 4 hours a day for the past week and it has not changed. time after timeafter time after time i was getting beat by the worste hand. It was like i was cursed. Not only that but there are some strange crazy hands that happen all the time! for example, two players all in pre flop...it's not uncommon at all for the board to hita full house, flush or straight making it a split pot...lower pockets seem to have a preference over the higher pair. if you have trips, you can almost be sure that a third club, spade or diamond will hit on the river giving someone a flush. I was really starting to get shocked at this so I started chatting with people playing sit and goes. It's amazing how many players there agree 100%!!!. I even notice the play is different there, than at other sites. People at pokerstars do not hesitate to go all in on an open ended draw or flush draw. A lot more so than on any other site i've played at. Then I started googleing pokerstars and realized that I was by fa not the only legitimate player who noticed this. that's where I found this thread actually. You're not by far alone man, despite what people will say (and what I said before joining pokerstars) there seriously is something fishy going on here. A8R

I have received a very high number of beats on stars lately. I have been playing poker for 3 years and never had it this bad. I actually play on ladbrokes poker (uk) but because my computer had to back to HP for repair i found that my GFs mac is compatible with poker stars. I had so many beats i sent a compaint email asking for audit infomation (which they didnt send) they just told me not to take it personally........ so i gave it another go i played a couple of 18 seater SNG and 45 seater SNG and this is what happened 3 times in a row i bubbled with QQ 1st (QQ vs A5) 2nd (QQ vs 1010) 3rd (QQ vs 56!) i had healthy stack each time (well average) i couldnt believe it. I know this is part of the game but come on! can somebody please give me advice on how i should approach this (also while i was writing this my KK just got cracked by QJ all in pre flop. WHAT CAN I DO!!??

The 2 sites I find are much better for bad beats (i.e. not that many) are wspx and betfair poker. That's particularly true for tournaments. I've given up on iPoker for lent. The hand that did it for me there I had 22 and bet 3x blind. Guy next to me called everyone else including blinds folded. Flop was 2-4-7 rainbow. I bet 2x pot guy goes all in, I call. He flips over J-6?? Turn is 5 river is 8 he completes the straight and I'm gone. I have no idea if its fixed but I don't need the frustration of ridiculous players hitting ridiculous hands. I don't know if the players are better at the other sites but I rarely if ever see someone try that at befair poker.

hey guys have some troubling proof that the rng works against good play, this is what you must do: go to any heads up game 5 dollars i say just so you dont lose much, sit out until you have very few chips basicaly let your chips get blinded out, then sit back iin with few left and see what hands u get i swear your next 3 out of 5 hands will be amazingly good everytime PROOF

Pinnacle's poker room is good too. I think its 24hr poker that runs it - a lot of people from Scandinavia on there. Hands seem to play more honestly than they do at pokerstars, fulltilt and the God awful iPoker. Actually my contention has always been that the poker rooms are all similar but the players at iPoker in tournaments are so bad that you just aren't rewarded for good play. What's the point of playing when 4 people call your pocket aces and one of them sucks out a turn-river to make a straight on garbage that they called with? And that's not an isolated occassion but happens almost every hand.

I can see some people not caring and drawing out on you... but when there is only one card that can beat you from the flop and this situation happens 3 times in a hour... the odds against that happening naturally are quite high...

i guarantee you (and most players) severely underestimate how many hands you can downswing even if you are clearly a winning player. and i'd be real surprised if you were one of the <1% of players that can maintain focus and still play their best game while in the middle of such a downswing. you probably need at least 25k hands to have any idea of how you rate against competition at any given level. at 70ish hands per hour (online), that's 350 or so table/hours. its very difficult. but you must think very long term to be successful at this game.
