Thursday Night Football
35-23-1 CFB, 14-12-1 NFL
Thursday games, I like Temple +6.5 (if you hurry) and Maryland +30.
Temple's a new idea this year, playing a rare Nat TV game as a chance to show it; WV got it's bubble burst big time last week. I think we'll see a tight one, and I'll take the points on it. I make it WVU by 3.
Maryland vs Florida St: always hard to go against the much better team that Fla. St. is, but I'll gamble that the Terps will show something, at home, on TV. Their star RB is just warming up, and if he does anything (he was a darkhorse Heisman Candidate), the game will play slow enough to keep the scoring down. I make it State by 24.
When the spreads get bigger, the difference between my line and the betting line needs to be bigger, so what I see to be a 6 pt. advantage here for Md. is about the same as the 3 pt. advantage I see for Temple.
11-15 college. 8-4-1 NFL
Looks like we are in separate beds again.
I like WVA -6. I'm not convinced the Owls
are for real. I see Avon Coborne rushing
for about 150 yards.
I'm passing on the other game. Don't
really follow Maryland.
For Thursday I'll take Temple +7 (World Wide Wager).
This is their home game and I don't think they'll let down because West Virginia got blown out last week. They may even win straight up. Looks to be a good game.
