Bit of a bitter pill, snowman. Kind of strange that 15 of 17 (88%) races at Sears Point have been won from top ten starting positions, yet Jeff Gordon starting 11th and Tony Stewart starting 12th had their odds decrease post qualifying and are both very heavy favorites. Harvick at 15/1 starting 3rd has some appeal. Busch at 9/1 from the pole also looks ago - they said his car was a second faster than everybody who tested at Virginia. Happy hour quotes are pretty slow to go up and it was not televised here today. Read a post qualifying quote from Martin who claimed his car was junk. Otherwise I would be all over him in his matchup with Pruett.

A few matchups at Olympic I really like: All 3x Earnhardt Jr over Kahne -1.35 Sadler over Jarrett -1.40 Harvick over Martin -1.15 considering taking Kyle Busch over Jeff Burton but passing for now on that one.

If it has been there forever, then in the last 17 races at Sears Point it has not proved to be much of an edge to start 11th or 12th. Track position looks like it means more. Very good tip none the less. Not sure how much tire wear plays at Infineon. At least the size of the track will make the tires the most used of any of the tracks.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: fullofpace don't forget fellas, that starting outside top ten gets to put on new tires at the start. gordon and stewart have faster cars and fresh tires to start. your welcome</end quote></div> First I have ever heard of this and unless I see it I don't believe it for a second.

so you have never heard a driver say."if we don't start in the front row, we would rather start 11th"? not much a big deal on most tracks but at darlington and other tracks tough on tires makes a big difference, especially when they run 2 laps of quailifing. take it for whats it worth.
