This year I would have to say I was more shocked by the GSP loss than anything. Over the last 12 months I was pretty damn surprised to see Lauzon KO Pulver and Couture defeat Sylvia. Obviously the Sylvia line was tight but I thought Couture was just cashing in on the big PPV.

Serra gets my vote too. Soko was surprising but it was because nobody knew him, he is obviously a very good fighter that had not had the opportunity to show his ability. Gonzaga is a similar story. Serra and GSP are both well known and have established certain ability levels. Serra came up big. FYI i loved hearing him call Hughes a "dick" on the air last Saturday.

Hughes will kill him though.
