Default Ruiz

Ruiz +183: Ruiz is 30 lbs heavier and has much more incentive in this fight. Jones is guaranteed $10m for the fight while Ruiz gets $2.5m pending pay-per-view sales. Jones hasn't done a thing to promote this fight. During the weigh in Ruiz's manager Stone claims he was sucker punched by Jones' trainer. Stone was taken to the hospital and later released. Ruiz can be one of the most boring boxers in the world to watch. I went to his last fight against Kirk Johnson at the Mandalay Bay. Ruiz won this as a 2-1 dog when Johnson was dq for low blows. Ruiz does anything to win. He'll grab, clutch, head butt, whatever it takes. Ruiz is one of two men along with Riddick Bowe to knock down Evander Holyfield. Ruiz was 1-1-1 against Holyfield although he should have been 3-0. Ruiz's biggest problem will be the quickness of Jones. Jones will try to stay away from Ruiz and Ruiz may not be able to catch him. Jones was dq for a fight previously. It wouldn't surprise me if either fighter is dq in this one. Jones may dominate if he can stay away from Ruiz but my money will be on Ruiz. Ruiz is a Don king Fighter. It will be awfully tough for Jones to get a decision.

Buster Douglas was more than 30 lbs heavier than Holyfield. Buster was KO'd in the 3rd rd. Joe Louis was 30 lbs heavier than Billy Conn. Conn mopped the ring with Louis through 12 rounds until he got cocky and decided to trade punches with Louis. Conn was KO'd in rd 13. I know Ruiz, seen him fight, and he is no Joe Louis. Jones will stick and move. Ruiz won't lay a glove on Jones. The speed and ring generalship will be glaring. An easy fight to predict. Jones by decision.

Sorry, Tuna have to disagree on this play. The payout is good, but my expert boxing friend who hasn't been wrong since I have known him is really sure that Jones will win easily by decision. I would lay the decision, but not worth taking a chance on the DQ. Good luck anyways on the fight.

Jones will dominate ruiz with his boxing skills but i doubt that he can actually stop him. So the fight should go to the judges. This is what worries me that snake in the grass Don King is involved in this fight. No question who the better fighter is but i can see jones being cheated in this fight . Ofcourse like i said in another thread Ruiz could get dqed.

Ruiz to win.
He isnīt exactly a legend in the making-but he has taken too much bad lip as well.He was AHEAD versus Johnson when Kirk decided he has had enough.Debatable if he won all three against Holy(I think not).
Thereīs that old saying-A good big man always beats a smaller good man(something like that).
Jones has been decked as a light heavy. He has never fought at Cruiser.Jones is also getting on a bit-it was 15 years ago since he was robbed in the olympics.I certainly believes that Jones peaked years ago.His chin can be touched nowadays-and if Ruiz touches it...
No one thinks that Ruiz will fight this fight from a distance. He must get in close, with Jones backed against the ropes-and work that body early on.Another old saying(or two)-The head might move, the body doesnīt AND If you kill the body the head will follow(or something like that).
Ruiz hits quite a bit harder than any other opponent Jones has ever fought.Over the championship distance of 12 rounds,he has a great chance connecting with something big sooner or later. Will Jones chin hold up for that?I donīt believe so.
Vice versa-Jones has nothing other than speed that will worry Ruiz. This is a perfect example of a fight where Ruiz will benefit from the Rocky Graziano/Jake La Motta tactics to take two on the chin in order to get one in himself(perhaps).
Bottom line-Speed will only get Jones a certain distance.Sooner or later Ruiz will connect.Jones is too old to stay away for 12 rounds against a world class heavyweight. The price heīll pay for that is defeat by way of KO or stoppage.
Go, Johnny-GO,GO,GO.

When did ruiz become a world class fighter ???? The guy does more grabing and pushing then punching. He is one of the worst fighters around.

Ahead, I don't think you could say that Ruiz is as good as Jones in skill level. I think the only thing going for Ruiz is his size and that's all. Jones is lightening fast, better combinations and the way better boxer. Good luck anyways.

Oddessa where did you get that over -160 line because I see it as -240. I'm going to open an account there right now and I'll give you the referral if I haven't played there before.

Just my two cents....

Ruiz will have more opportunities to win this fight than Jones. Jones basically has to last 12 rounds and jab and run enough to score points. He very well could win this fight, but my hardearned money is on:

Ruiz +170
Fight will not go 12 +160

Um, looks like I might have overlooked that fact that Ruiz was a poorly managed chump.
