Handicappers

Well guys...Here comes football...Thank god!!!....Baseball started out great but has ultimately drained me dry....I need to start over....Anyway I have a question for the group:

Who do you feel offers the best handicapping service out there?

I get offers all the time and I am leaning towards one of them but I'm interested in other opinions first. Here are some of the cappers:

Kelso Sturgeon
Jim Hurley
Jimmy Vaccaro

A buddy of mine tried a guy by the name of "Jimmy Daimond" last year and lost almost every play. In contrast I did pretty well last year on my own but it's always good to have an informed second opinion. Whay do you guys think?

Thank you Grady....I've been lurking over baseball season as my pick were just one loss after another...I need to stick with what I know i.e. football/basketball....I will start up again early in the season but I will start slow as I am VERY gunshy after what happened this summer...looking foward to contributing to the group...Six

Thank you for the responses they go duly noted and I will compare notes as we move along. I did pretty good last season on my own but the more info the better. Just to see how good these "handicappers" are I signed up for one:

Kelso Sturgeon

I found his name to be all over the internet with accolades so I ran with it. Cost $200 for both college and pro preseason as well as college and pro regular season.

I called to sign up on thier 800 number and spoke to a guy who asked for my credit card, expiration date and phone number. It turns out that it's a service where you "call in" on the phone and get the picks (I thought it would be web based). The guy wanted to upsell me the bowl games but I advised I wanted to test thier ability on the regular season and we'd go from there. He then gave me an account number and we parted ways.

I don't know if I threw money away or if it will be worth it but if I'd never know if I didn't try. Time will tell and I can't wait to get started. I look forward to contributing to the group.

Wish you had waited to get more feedback before pulling the trigger. Sturgeon is a windbag and a loser. All the stats he posts are phony. You are MUCH better off coatailing some good cappers here and @ the RX. Kodiak is VERY good as is Omaha Ted there are about 6 or 7 guys on these forums that will always outdo all the touts on TV. Also you must do your own homework and part of this is getting opinions from other respected cappers. Save your money! Luck to you.

This weekend I decided to call the football picking service I purchased for $200.00 (Kelso Sturgeon Football Picks)....I called the 800 number that I was provided and the guy that signed me up immediatly tried to upsell me into the "preferred picks" package at a cost of $1200.00.....The first thing he asked me was if I was in a position to lay 5 dimes on a game....I played along and told him I was.....He then went on to ask that if he gave me some winning picks that evening would I consider paying $1200.00 for the preferred package...I told him that I would wait and see what happened but I had no intention of paying that much for the program....Anyway, he went on to give me the following 3 football picks...He also asked if I would take a baseball game and then he strongly recommended jumping on the Pirates over Colorado...Here's what he recommended, the results and what I took.

Recommendation Outcome My bet
Eagles +3 Eagles 6 Patriots 24 None
Chiefs +3 Chiefs 24 Giants 34 $1000
Jets +3 Jets 13 Saints 23 None

Pirates -150 Pirates 3 Colorado 9 $2000

Obviously the guy cost me $3000.00.....I feel stupid for getting sucked into his game....Clearly their only objective is to upsell clients into an expensive program and I'm positive that if someone buys into it they are given excuse after excuse for losses until the client simply disappears.....Oh well live and learn...I sent the guy (Kelso Sturgeon) a letter today expressing my dissatisfaction....I'm confident that it will not do anything but it felt good to vent....Bottom line, my recommendation is to stay away from Kelso Sturgeon and his sports picks....I don't know if this is the way a great deal of the handicappers work or maybe it was just the way his staff operates....Nonetheless it was unprofitable and headed in a bad direction!!!

I don't want to tell you what to do, but you should sever ties with Sturgeon immediately. And ask him for all your $$ back. Think of Sturgeon like the Dionne Warwick Psychic Network. Pure bullshit, and any vets on this site will tell you that.

WHY do you guys insist yr after yr playing w/ANY svc?? Do you have a sign on your back saying "f*ck me I`m a moron"? Do as I told you 3 wks ago do your own homework then follow the good cappers here and on the RX. There are quite a few and they are free. Paying for a svc. is just throwing your money away.

Well...positive or negative I appreciate everyones comments....As far as signing up for a service goes it's relative to your net worth...$200 to me may be like $2 or possibly $20,000 to others....As far as what I spend it on it's my business and I only posted the information here to share with other unsuspecting people....Handicappers are only meant to be information services to be used in assisting you to make an educated decision....unfortunately for them, thier true colors surface rather quickly...In my case it only took one experience with this guy....Nevertheless, I am looking forward to football and I will be tracking records of those who insist on belittling instead of adding constructive information...I can't wait!!!...Cheers and have a great day!!!
