Tara Reid collapses in Bali nightclub, taken to hospital..

The ‘American Pie’ actress was enjoying a night out on the island of Bali when she 'lost her footing' and injured herself.

A source said: “She was having a couple a drinks and then all of a sudden she lost her footing.”

She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for cuts and bruises and she is now recovering at her luxurious hotel.

The 32-year-old is in Bali promoting a new pyjamas range with entrepreneur Peter Alexander.

Actress Tara Reid will never get into trouble with the authorities because she isn’t “stupid” like party girls Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

The American Pie beauty, 31, insists she is a reformed party girl and is no longer prepared to risk her career, insisting her work comes before her social life.

She says, “I think the reason I never ended up in as much trouble as Paris or Lindsay seem to is that I’m not stupid, so I’d never do a lot of the things those girls do, and I’ve always had good friends around me.

“They need to straighten up a little bit and make better investments. And they should surround themselves with better people who don’t let them get themselves in trouble.

“You’ll never read a story about me going out and partying when I’m supposed to be working. Nor would I show up on a set drunk or miss a day’s work - never.”.

A few months ago, Tara Reid claimed to be simply a social drinker. "I've done enough [partying] for a lifetime," she told PEOPLE. Earlier this week, however, Reid checked into Promises Treatment Center to treat alcohol addiction.


"Tara has a problem with alcohol. It's been at the root of much discomfort between herself and her family and friends," a source close to the actress told PEOPLE. "She becomes erratic and is a completely different person when she's intoxicated, which is hard for people close to her to watch."

The source applauds Reid's desire to improve her life. "She finally made the decision to do something positive for herself and her loved ones."

TARA REID is going back to school to reprise her American Pie character VICKI LATHUM in the sex comedy franchise's seventh movie Book of Love.

Reid, who is on the comeback trail after spending the beginning of the year (09) in rehab, played Lathum in the first two Pie films.

Original American Pie star Eugene Levy will also be part of the new film, alongside crooner Wayne Newton and U.S. TV favourite Sherman Helmsley from The Jeffersons.
