Alec,

You posted:

"Great post! The only thing that I can't understand is how a NATION can be held accountable."

Obviously someone held OUR NATION "accountable" for something ... for these terrorist acts to have occurred in the first place. The only thing I would love to see happen right now is LOTS of people, places, and things getting blown to ****ing bits right now whomever, whichever, or whatever people are or ever have been involved in any terrorist group! Personally I dont really give a damn if they are involved in this paticular act of violence or not, A STORY MUST BE TOLD here! ... And you have to forgive me If I am a little upset right now, but I still have not been able to get in touch with my father who was supposed to have been at the Pentagon today in Washington ... so In my opinion ... **** them all!

Hey guys, I told you earlier about my 2 close friends that work in the World Trade Center building...I finally got through to his wife...he is OK and has also received word that our other friend is also OK. You wanna hear an amazing story as to why he's alive?

Today was his daughter's 4th Birthday, so he spent some extra time with her this morning and missed the early ferry from Jersey into his office at the World Trade Center...he came in on the next ferry and was just arriving when the first plane hit the building...he immediately turned right around and got back on the ferry and went back to Jersey. If he doesn't spend the extra half hour with his daughter on her birthday, he is definitely in the building at the time this all started...wow...

I am a night person so I don't get to bed till around 5-6am and I turn off the phones.

So I woke up at 12:15pm turned on the computer and on aol's homepage was a picture of the world trade center on fire and it said "AMERICA UNDER ATTACK" I said to myself "This is a stupid fuc'in joke" and thought someone hacked aol. Then it started instant messages from everyone saying "why isn't your phone on" I go to my answering machine to find it full. My mother crying,my brother,2 cousins, aunt, and wife screaming at me "This is why I tell you not to turn the phones off because there could be an emergency"

I have 7 members of my family(Uncle and 6 cousins) that work in the Jacob Javits center and another uncle that is a probation officer 3 blocks away from the twin towers. As far as I know everyone is ok. My heart goes out to the family's of the victims nationwide. Sorry to keep going on and on but it is nice to just see you guys on here and putting aside all the bs posts and focusing on this disaster.

Freeway,
Heath made that comment about prophecy based on my previous comment at bottom of page 4. He then went on to post that BS made by the moron from the website he listed, insuating that what that IDIOT said was Prophecy.

All you have to do is read the last line of that comment to understand EXACTLY HOW F*CKED UP these people truly are. Here it was again as posted by Heath where he said he WISHED he had written it:

Mark my words, my friends: today has been one small step for terrorism, but one giant leap for the police state.

Small Step? Excuse me? Are you DEAF DUMB AND FREAKING BLIND? How many people have to die to make it a "big" step, Heath? !!!

I don't give a SH*T what anyone says about Heath, his intentions, his political views, or any other F*CKING THING ABOUT HIM; The bottom line is that ANYONE that can support that statement let alone WISH they had written it, is a 100% CERTIFIED F*CKING A$$HOLE!

Building #7 has just collapsed. Un-friggin-believable.

The Palestinians clapping made me sick. I was cursing my head off at the TV when I saw that, and that was in a public place. These clowns need to pay, and they need to pay soon. I didn't vote, but I pray Bush is smart enough to not let this tragedy go unpunished. I don't think R.R. was the greatest president, but he did scare the hell out of other countries to the point that no one really attacked us, which was the one thing I liked about him. Hopefully Bush is the same way.

I was watching on CNN and they were talking to a reporter whose wife died in one of the crashes. She called him twice and said that the plane was hijacked, with the terrorists using cardboard-cutters and knives.

It is my personal belief right now that the people on the Pittsburgh crash saved the lives of thousands. I think that they somehow overtook the terrorists on the plane, forcing them to crash before they got to their destination. Anybody hear how many terrorists were on each plane? I figured there must be about 10-20, because I think if there were only 5 or so it would be about 10 passengers to every terrorist. Even with knives, I think the 10 passengers could overcome one terrorist. That is the thing I want to know most right now.

Bin Laden has to have something to do with this. He takes pride in this, and he has been quiet for a while. It's time to shut him up for good.

Military vehicles have just gotten onto Maryland Avenue, not sure what that means. My prayers go out to all of the victims and their families, and I hope that we kick some freaking ass.

Sorry to see the attacks on Heath and Mark Del. I think they're speaking some important truths. You have to try to see through your rage at a time like this. It's not disloyal to suggest that your government is not doing an acceptable job. Most of the responses here are more glandular than thoughtful. That may feel good right now, but it won't cut it in the weeks and years to come.

Mark and Heath are your brothers at a time like this. These obscene flames are shameful.

MarkDel-

That is great news, somebody was watching out for your friend.

Krackman-

I was even a little bit concerned since we had not heard from you and I thought you lived pretty close to the area. Glad you are okay as well.

I think most NY regulars have checked in today. So that is good news. Any one know the whereabouts of REALITY?

Guesser,
Here's how.
About three years ago I had an amicable breakup with my ex-girlfriend who I lived with. She had a set of kithchen knives with a wood holder which held all of them. She gave me one (about a 9 inch blade). Because she kept the holder I put it in the side pocket of my travel bag planning to unpack it when I moved into my new place (it was only right up the street. I'm sure you have guessed by now that I completely forgot about it. A year later I visited a friend in Alabama. I sailed right through security at Logan not knowing it was in my bag. I did not sail through security on my way back from Birmingham. They found the knife and I had some very tense moments. Everything turned out ok for me but I learned a lot about airport security.

P.S. This was carry on.

quote:[/size]
Originally posted by MarkDel:
...do you really think for one moment that the rest of the world would support the U.S. if it took major offensive action against Afghanistan or any other nation proven or suspected to be involved in this? NO WAY!!! If we have to take dramatic action, which is extremely unlikely in view of the political situation in this county the past decade, we can count on the support of about 4 countries. Canada and Mexico will give decent but relatively quiet support...Japan will be a bit more vocal in their support...and as ALWAYS we can count on the 100% support of England. where even the most liberal politicians turn into "Hawks" when it comes to matters of international relations. EVERY continental European nation will either condemn us or remain silent...all of them, even Germany. That's why we will do NOTHING beyond limited, surgical, strategic air strikes, designed to limit "collateral" damage. That's all that will happen....no real retalliation.

Mark:

I respect you as much as anyone on this forum, but you are as totally and completely wrong on this issue as Heath. Bush is not Clinton, and this incident has leaped over the bounds of tolerance. Not only will the U.S. take substantive actions, I believe our allies will back (and maybe even join) our efforts.

Germany has already called this a "mass murder", and the usually passive French have said that terrorism needs to be eradicated from this planet.

Let me say this again. THIS IS AN ACT OF WAR and we will retaliate with as much force as necessary to deal with the perpetrators.

Dejavu Did I hear the "Make no mistake about it"phrase again.Mr Bush I sure hope you are more sincere than the last who spoke these words. If not we can expect more of the same.
What kind of message have we given terrorists? We win a war and allow dictator to remain in power, make threats on leading terrorists and allow for them to be protected by enemies? Its time to draw the line in the sand literally.
Have read probably 200 threads on this issue and I always try to imagine the people behind the post.Would wager less than 5% have ever served in war time for their respective counties. While it was only a movie Jack said it best, most can't handle the f---g truth.
