An open letter to REALITY...

Reality-

The flags around here are at half mast in honor of your self imposed exile from these forums.

I came to MajorWager on the referral of a friend and I read every word on all of your posts to that date. It was the most informative posts out there, your views from "both sides of the counter" were very useful.

Your ethics which include unwavering loyalty to your friends, post a number take a bet and pay when the player wants are all tremendous qualities and you should be commended for sticking to those beliefs in this era.

However the ethics and beliefs you have are lost in the era of the internet. Where a guy can get a rise out of you, lose posting privileges and come back with a new user name.

Your persistence and passion for maintaining your own and your friends reputations are great fuel for these people and they know they will get an immediate and passionate response.

Its kind of a sick world where a guy that has an unwielding allegiance to his friends, past employers, people in the same neighborhood, his chosen profession, and family can be criticized and subject to ridicule. Especially in a forum where he knows at least as much about the topic and industry as any other poster.

Its even a sicker society that these kind of traits can drive him out of a forum that I believe he "truly" enjoys.

Good luck REALITY- you will be missed by both your fans and antagonists alike.

You have just been nominated for the REALITY sycophant of the year award!!!!!

Previous nominees include no less than the Devil himself, Ronbets, KOTS, and MadameX.

In all seriousness, Buzz, REALITY did have his good points! His knowledge was impressive; as was his loyalty to his friends. But this was also his tragic flaw! His blind support for his friends at the expense of the truth and even attacking unfairly anyone who sought to question any of his friends!

REALITY could have learned from Matthew 5:46 where Christ charges us to love also our enemies..."If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even corrupt tax collectors (bookmakers?) do that much." (apologies to Taxman, bible quote from New Living Translation at bible.crosswalk.com)

REALITY not only didnt love his enemies, he was ruthless, relentless, vicious, and unfair in his attacks upon anyone who dared to disagree with him!

THE INDUSTRY MUST BE SO BLIND THAT THEY WANT REALITY TO LEAVE. THESE PEOPLE ARE JUST ENVIOUS OF HIS POWER AND KNOWLEDGE.
I KNOW CLERKS THAT WOULD GIVE THEIR LIVES FOR HIM. TO HIM, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE WELLBEING OF THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM. ONE DAY A CLIENT UTTERLY DISRESPECTED A CLERK, AND REALITY JUMPED FROM THE STAGE TO THE CLERK'S COMPUTER TERMINAL TO SHUT OFF THE CLIENT'S ACCOUNT BASED SOLELY ON THE LACK OF RESPECT SHOWN THE CLERK.

THAT IS WHAT IS LACKING IN THIS INDUSTRY, NOT THE PEOPLE WHO COME OFFSHORE AND ONE DAY TO THE NEXT CLOSE DOWN OPERATIONS AND LEAVE PEOPLE UNEMPLOYED AND WITHOUT THE SOCIAL GUARANTEE THAT IS IN ACCORD WITH OUR LOCAL LAWS.

IN COSTA RICA WE WANT MORE REALITY'S AND LESS CHEATERS WHO ONLY COME AS OPPORTUNISTS IN THE PHENOMENON CALLED OFFSHORE BOOKMAKING. HE IS A VERY RESPECTFUL PERSON AND I HAD THE GREAT PLEASURE OF KNOWING HIM PERSONALLY.

Because of my apathy, I don't vote in political elections. But rumor has it that MW readers who already miss the incomparable Reality are starting a Reality Fan Club, and that the election for club president will be conducted in this forum. To demonstrate how excited I am about this development, I plan to temporarily transcend my apathy and actually vote in the election. For what it's worth, Guido S will get my vote for president of the Reality Fan Club. LOL.

You live by the sword and die by the sword. Reality's constant fervor and unwillingness to let something die led to his unraveling. He even said that it might end up hurting the books that he recommended. I think that is bad for the industry in which he represented.

I (not unlike the rest of his fans) got tired of the long cut and paste responses and challenges to his detractors, I just did the prudent thing ( I think) and chose not to read those topics.

Its too bad he is remembered not for quality information about the sports betting industry but of his rants to people who challenged or questioned him.

If someone told me they believe in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy, I guarantee that I
would have as little respect for them as I do for Jesus freaks. By the way, for what it's worth, I make the odds 1,000,000,000,000,000/.000000000001 against Jesus returning in this century. And the odds are even lower for the next century.

Again, I respect everyone's right to believe whatever they want. But how can I respect the intellect of someone who believes in a pie-in-the-sky, fairytale-like religion
like exoteric (or conventional) Christianity?
And the answer is, I can't.

Alec, in the USA, little kids are told that, when they lose a baby tooth and stick it under their pillow at night, the Tooth Fairy will reward them. So, in the USA, litle kids believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and Jesus.

Life's a bitch...you pop off, you might get your head popped off (at least via this board). Hey-there are SLOW nights (but fewer of them now that college foots has snagged Tuesday AND Friday nights).
