Default 3 Worst Drivers in NASCAR?

Who would you say are the 3 worst Winston Cup drivers?

Here is my opinion

1- Terry Labonte
2- Mike Skinner
3- Kyle Petty

The first two drivers because they have good cars but constantly finish poorly. The third because he's always lived off the laurels of his father but couldn't find the top 10 with a map.

Hartley

I think its safe to say that of all the posters in this forum, I know the least about Nascar. As a matter of fact, to prove my point, I have only heard of driver 1 and 3 and just a few times. I couldn't name you one driver off the top of my head. Oh yeah sorry, Jeff Gordon, right? If I was to meet any Nascar driver on the street, I wouldn't even recognize any of them. Now is that bad or what? People in Australia know more about hockey than me about Nascar. That's sad!

Hartley,

Labonte used to be OK and Petty did have a few moments in his younger years, but I agree with you about Skinner. What about Hut Stricklin and Buckshot Jones? From what I've seen, this Jerry Nadeau guy is one of the most overrated performers in ANY sport.

Why don't we see more women drivers in NASCAR? That way we could get 'em off the streets, where they're dangerous.

Mark, Stricklin and Jones are in inferior cars so you can't really be sure. But Terry Labonte is just uncompetitive week in and week out despite being in a Hendrick car. As for Petty of course you're right (and at one point Terry Labonte was a good driver), but I'm talking about now. It seems that Mark Martin has lost a step also, but all the Roush cars are struggling this year.

Let me add another bad driver to the mix...ROBBY GORDON, on a big track, he sucks. Just my opinion but I also think Michael Waltrip is overrated but then again, I know nothing about NASCAR!

Sportsbank is like a vigilante out there. She drives like my mom, who doesn't steer, she aims! SB was so maniacal I threw up my Bennigan's Adelphia Burger all over her new Range!.....Oh, you said "Nascar". Sorry, carry on......

You haven't seen my mother in law drive. She would make Sportsbank look like Terry Labonte. When you get into the passenger seat with her the opening lines would be

You throw up -175 +165
No accident -215 +195
Very close call -125 +115
Go through a red ligh Pick em
Go thru stop sign Pick em
Reverse without looking -1200 +1000
Switch lanes without looking -1800 +1400
She will fall asleep -140 +130
She will go less than 30 mph on the freeway -190 +180

All you have to do is make sure you have your seatbelt on, hold on tight and hope for the best. I am not exaggerating.

Personally, I would go with Nadeau, hornaday, and T. Labonte. Nadeau is fast, but he is dangerous same as hornaday. It does not good to move up the track, then wreck and have a chance of killing somebody.
T Labonte just sucks right now, period.

They may be bad drivers but with names like BUCKSHOT JONES and HUT STRICKLIN, they certainly conjour up images of the confederat flag and gun racks...I agree about Skinner, btw, but half the fun of Nascar is listening to some of these jokers yammer on in their southern drawls.

Speaking of which, was it just me or did anybody else notice how very GOOD Michael Waltrip was as a commentator on CNNSI's Qualifying this week (yes I realize that admitting i watched this proves i have no life - didn't even have any action on it)

btw, MARK, how about some FUTURES on NASCAR Pole Position at Camelot, United is the only other place that does it (although sometimes SIA just copies them and sticks it up too) .

For a guy that just, in his words, "stopped by", Waltrip was damned funny, insightful, and best of all told me things that I DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW (unlike most damed announcers in any sport. FOX or NBC should get him into the booth in a hurry if he ever retires. He certainly couldn't be any worse than some of the guys they've got now (see Benny Persons for an outstanding example of this)

Phoenix, the best NASCAR name of all time, by far and away:

DICK TRICKLE.

Lake Speed runs a distant second.

Hartley...good point. I forgot about Dick...definately evokes all that NASCAR hopes for you to think about when you hear it...or maybe what they hope for you not to think about...I think the dodges might have a good shot this week as well.
